I might be moving away temporarily either to Ontario or San Fran.

Anyone know the procedures involved in transporting my vehicle for use to another province or state? I know ICBC has insurance for that, but

getting the vehicle over there is what I'm wondering.

FWIW this guy at works buys used cars in Alberta(for some reason BMW are cheap there) and ships them here via rail.

OP, you're question wasn't exactly clear. I read it and I was like, "uh, you just drive the thing and then register it in that province if you're staying any length of time." But clearly you want to fly there or are driving a moving van or something then have the vehicle shipped out.

My brother in law shipped a 70's Vette he picked up from the US by train. Well, here's your answer

I once broke down doing a cross canada road trip (Evidently the servicing I paid for forgot to include oil ) So I ended up flying back home because it was going to take about 2 weeks to fix my car in whatever hick town it was that I was in.

I ended up having my car transported on the back of a truck. Being Driven I believe was also an option by I opted for transport.

I am pretty sure I used Shiply.com

as far as the states goes I have no idea.
