Nuxfanabroad
Watched that vid this morning of Bo's summer gig, back at his home in Rodney. This kid is something. I could see the Leaves dying to get a solid, local Ontario guy like that. Matthews & him likely being a dream 1, 2 punch down the middle. Imagine the Leafers offered Nylander & their 2017 1st for Bo..would you accept it? What if they added a 2nd(they have 3 2nd's, next draft). How much + would they need to add for JB to bite? In short, I wouldn't accept the two pieces. It would take a LOT to move Bo Horvat. With his talent, character & background, I'd prefer we build around him. Just the same, I'm curious how other fans feel?...
Toews
The Canucks will obviously not trade Bo but there is no way the Leafs would make that offer. Nylander is one of the best C prospects, considering the Leafs needs they would be looking at Tanev rather than Bo. Tanev is also a local kid for them and made a good partner for Morgan Rielly on Canada's top pairing.

What you're saying is certainly reasonable..but I believe Horvat is so special, JB is probably receiving some ridiculous offers that would surprise most people on these boards. GoBoGo53
I don't think the Leafs would trade Nylander straight up for Bo. I believe they are very high on him.

(not that I believe those things, it just seems to be the accepted beliefs) if I'm divining 5 years into the future, I'd rather have Bo and all his intangibles rather than almost any one-dimensional, point-scorer I can think of. Nucker 67
Why do people automatically assume that Horvat can't be a #1C? Because he's defensively responsible?

Kurt Nirvanagut
As long as we're pipedreaming, imagine if the Oilers offered McDavid and a 1st for Horvat and Tanev.

I just don't think either team would entertain a swap and both keep their respective players.

c00kies
I wouldn't take it. Nylander is better suited for the East, and Bo is better for the West. I also think Bo is a player you need in the playoffs, while Nylander is going to thrive during the regular season (not saying he will suck in the playoffs). Both players bring certain elements that their respective teams like, and won't trade them.

Bo is clearly the best young player in the league and will certainly captain the young NA team at the World Cup, he is that special! Sure he really struggled as a #2 centre last year, but that's only because he was rushed there.

Yikes...first of all Bo isn't even on the NA World Cup team let alone the captain, not sure how you don't know that unless you live in a cave and don't actually watch hockey...Bo is a decent player with 2 successful seasons as a rookie and 19 year old sophomore but to call him "clearly the best young player in the league" is beyond ludicrous... Hairy Kneel
I don't think either team could take that chance. they are too valuable pieces.

We love the kid here, but lately, I've started to think that he is not as valued outside of Vancouver based on the fact that he didn't even get invited for Team Canada at the World Hockey Championship this year despite the fact that he publicly acknowledged that he would love to go and he finished the year strong. Centers that got chosen over him includes Sam Reinhart, Derick Brassard, Boone Jenner, Mark Scheifele, Ryan O'Reilly, Matt Duchene, and Connor McDavid.
