I still don't see how Golf is an Olympic event, all other sports in Olympics actually make you work up a sweat or at least give you a workout, raise your heart rate. Golf doesn't do any of these, kind of a slap in the face to the real athletes.

plus it is a real crap shoot who wins..

next olympics they are bring back baseball and softball.

Another medal for Canada! Was just watching it and honestly super confused though. Can somebody explain?

How did four riders turn into three at the end?? And why?? Why start with four in the first place

As a person who has a diploma in Professional Golf Management (I know that sounds dumb, I also got a 4 year BBA ), I can tell you that the effort exerted in a single golf shot(for professionals), training pro-golfers go through, and mental/physical strain golfers go through... is just as intense if not more than other sports.

To me it is just as deserving to be an olympic sport as any other. There is a reason as to why in the last 10 years all the best and consistent golfers are the best athletes and in great shape.

Let's not pretend golf is a sport.  It's an activity.  There are several Olympic activities, like shooting, sailing, and equestrian events, where the competitors have a skill, but aren't necessarily elite athletes.

Professional golfers tend to have naturally more elastic muscles and tendons; They tend to have Fast twitch muscles which help them exert ridiculous amount of power in the short time of a golf swing; Good putters in golf also tend to have higher degrees of water retention in their muscles which allows them to make that 5 foot putt 95% of the time (that's why normal people have the "yips", small unnoticeable cramps in the hand/arms). Golfers tend to have great muscle memory, which allow them to hit the ball exactly 71 yards instead of 70 yards.

Professional golfers are born with characteristics that allow them to become elite athletes. No different than any other sport.

Lets not pretend you know what makes a golfer a good vs one that can actually be on the PGA.
