Neither could hold serve in the 4th. They couldn't muster much energy at times either. I'm pretty disappointed with the way the OC organized/scheduled this final. Del Potro in particular played a gruelling match vs Nadal yesterday - they turn around and play back to back days, with the gold medal match being a 5 setter. You simply don't ever see that in the regular tour (unless they have weather/rain problems that push the schedule back and necessarily compact it). Imo it played right into Murray's hands. It really hampered the quality of play imo - both guys were gassed at times - and Del Potro was sucking wind throughout the entire match - having the additional difficulty of not really being in great match condition yet. Some great spotty tennis still, but you have to wonder how good it could have been had they had a day off to rest between semis and the final. Yeah, they should have just made it best out of three, just like the rest of the matches. Making the game longer while getting no breaks in between didn't make sense. It's the only event that has a truly open field. Winning the 100 means you are the fastest human on the planet. Of course it's the focal point of the Games. There is a moment, when the men are in the "set" position, that the world is silent.

AV's Coin
Canada men's indoor volleyball vs Italy tonight. Last chance to move on. Italy who is already moving on may just tank so Canada moves forward knocking out France or Brazil I believe. Hope it's not Brazil knocked out though. I want them to make the final although they have not always looked the best so far. Edit. Brazil vs France a huge game tonight as well. Can probably stream it on CBC if not on tv

And that wasn't really close. Italy can mail it in and still finish first. Hoping they do that but that isn't the spirit of sport.

Situation is very fluid....Group of Death.

I like Kerber, and the 3rd set wasn't close, but seeing Puig come in as the 34th ranked player and just steamroll her way to her country's first ever Gold - that was quite something - as was the medal ceremony. Steve Johnson also had quite the Olympics - almost upset Murray, and then winning the bronze in straight sets - liked the team of Johnson and Sock (didn't mind seeing them knock off Nestor tbh). His PB is 19.94(WR is 19.19), this is Bolts preferred distance as well.
