Odjick_fan
What your thoughts of a straight trade between nucks Baertschi and preds Colin Wilson? only 3 years older than Baer http://predlines.com/2016/07/18/nashville-predators-time-to-trade-colin-wilson/ I think Wilson and Sutter would make a solid line with either Hansen or Eriksson Sedin-Sedin-Hansen Wilson-Sutter-Eriksson Etem-Horvat-Rodin (Obviously Virts in Utica) Burrows-Granlund-Dorsett Thoughts? Justdean10
Wilson has nice size, but I think Baer is going to have a break out season and think he's one of our most skilled players.
Guest
Preds add. A lot.

Wilson got 13 point in 14 games last playoffs, that's worth some value right there.
PlanB
Wilson's the better, more established player right now and we've probably seen his upper limits of point production in the 35-45pt range. But Baer has far higher up-side and isn't even close to reaching his peak for probably 3 years yet. Don't understand why either club does this trade. Phil_314
Skill-wise gotta think Sven has the higher upside, and our team needs scoring upside. Wilson may be better now but he's likely gonna top out at around 40-45 points max. No need to add another two-way guy.
Hairy Kneel
I like the playoff stat for W I'd do it for that. playoffs is where the rubber hits the road
Alflives
Is that the Wilson that's large, and plays a heavy game? He would help us in the now, so it's a trade JB might do.
Kurt Nirvanagut
I acquired Colin Wilson in a couple of my previous Canucks NHL 14-15 GM franchises. I'd like him on their real life roster but probably not at Baertschi's expense.
48MPHSlapShot
Baertschi has more potential upside. I'll pass.

Odjick_fan
Yer all right that Baer has wicked potential, I was just thinking of who would click with Sutter, similar style of play and scoring touch. Wilson looks the part but yes I agree, not at the expense of Baertschi. Not sure what Nashville would consider for that one but we prolly don't have the assets that we would not want to lose. (Sbisa, Grenier and 2nd) lol jus kiddin
canucklehead44
Wilson had less than half the goals at over twice the salary plus he is 3 years older. Also given how well Baertschi played in the second half, it isn't too farfetched that he scores 25 goals 50 points next season. On the other hand, the Preds lost a lot of size swapping out Weber for Subban. Plus they have a great top 4, but after that it is just a washed up Matt Carle and AHL calibre guys. Sbisa would actually slide in well onto their bottom pairing. Wilson for Sbisa could work. Bit of a risk/reward for both teams. Drafted the same year. Similar contracts. Canucks add a pick as well. If Wilson can get back to his 20 goal form he could be that big, young, gritty goal scorer Benning is looking for.

They bought out Jackman because he does not bring enough offence - for them it's not just about making an outlet pass but being able to handle the puck in the o-zone and make plays with the forwards. They want their Ds to be able to join the cycle. They acknowledged that Y-Weber had a poor season but they still think he is going to bring speed and skills. Nashville is not focused on size - they want speed and skills all through the lineup. Poile even calls Ryan Ellis his prototypical D. Wilson is expected to be in their top-6 LW with Forsberg being the other. However they might still want to add someone else in case Wilson continues to struggle in the regular season. Odjick_fan
Maybe Hansen for Wilson? Let's face it, Hansen's value is pretty high right now. Why not take advantage of this and trade for Wilson. I really think Wilson and Sutter would make a great line.

He is amazing in the playoffs but for whatever reason he can't seem to find consistency in the regular season. They would need a top-6 LW to replace Wilson. Hansen is an RW and not a top-6 player in Nashville - they have Neal and Smith. I think Nashville could like your first proposal of Baertschi for Wilson. He plays exactly the style they want to play and they are a team who doesn't care about size - they want skills.
