Proposal Van - Min

Recommended Posts

1st the chances the 2017 2nd round pick and 3rd round pick make it to the NHL is as slim as this trade going through. 2nd what is the conditional 3rd? You never said anything about it. 3rd Spurgeon is way better then sbisa and I doubt  they they would trade a younger and skilled granlund for a Brandon Sutter who had a serious injury last year.

it would be if Canucks made it passed 1st round playoffs, I was thinking same thing bout Sutter but who can we trade to make this transaction to go through maybe Tanev and Sutter and a 2nd? I think I'm not to far off? Somewhere along these lines!

Why do the Wild want to do this have you thought about that Wild are still a playoff team? Canucks aren't they shouldn't be trading anymore 2nds and 3rds.

yah true:) I just thought that both teams can benefit equally and both teams improve over the long run. Just something to ponder about..... I'm just really looking forward to improving our team in some way. If we cant add Kane aswell Hudler to our roster.... I'm really hoping to make playoffs instead, of rebuilding. and going the long route of things:) I'm Stanley cup super Hungary and I think our vets on the team love to have one more crack at it aswell:) but we need couple players like a Kane, Hudler, Granlund or a shattenkirk to make this a reality as hard as it might seem to get done with cap space etc......

Minnesota is extremely high on Spurgeon.  Suter even had a hissy fit when Yeo removed Spurgeon from his line.  They aren't moving him for that package.

Granlund is a question mark - it sounds like they no longer think he can be a C in this league but Boudreau liked what he saw at the Worlds and wants to try him on Koivu's wing.  If one the younger players can make more of an impact - he could be available.  They need to decide this year if they want to commit to him long term and that's not quite a given.

Sutter is not needed - it looks like Haula took the next step when he got more opportunities.  Their 3rd line of Niederreiter-Haula-Pominville was their best and most productive line after Torchetti took over and it carried into playoffs.  It's expected for Boudreau to keep that line intact.

Boudreau was not exactly a Sbisa fan in Anaheim.  He's also apparently very excited by their Ds.  Folin can bring Sbisa's physicality for about a 5th of the cost.  Their Ds seems set: Suter Spurgeon Scandella Brodin Reilly Dumba with Prosser, Folin and Olofsson also in the mix.

Hey I got a crazy idea. How about we keep our draft picks. And while we're at it we keep out shutdown centre and put two guys that can fly on the wings. One that can hit like a truck and another who is a puck hound. Now only if we had 2 guys like that.......oh wait nvm
