(Blockbuster Proposal) Van-Edm

(Proposal) Van-Edm

To Canucks: RNH, Yakupov, LaLeggia and return pick for Larsen

To Oilers: Tanev, Granlund, Hansen, Grenier and 1st pick (or Torts 2nd)

2016-2017 lineup

Sedin-Sedin-Eriksson
Yakupov-RNH-Sutter
Baertschi-Horvat-Rodin/Virtanen
Etem-Gaunce-Dorsett
Burrows
Megna

Edler-Larsen
Hutton-Gudbranson
Sbisa-Tryamkin
Pedan

Miller
Markstrom

Not sure if this would fly.  Perhaps this could be on or before TD (best case would be immediately so Nucks could determine future of Yaks).  Might be some other modifications to proposal, but thinking of each teams needs, this is what I came up with.

Canucks will need a 1C in the next few years and that is where RNH comes in.  Oilers need top pairing RHD, hence Tanev.  Larsen is offensice D and Edler is more defensive D so it might work; Yakupov needs a change of scenery; Hansen to replace Yaks.

I wanted to put Griffin Reinhart but he is projected to be future top pairing D (might cost even more lol).  LaLeggia has good numbers from his time in University; could be a steal.  Grenier for LaLeggia.

From what I have read, the 2017 draft is not that deep, so maybe 1st would be enticing, but if can get away with 2nd than all the better.  Remember RNH and Yaks are 1st rounders so maybe it should be the 2017 1st round pick we would give back?

This could work!! I think lol

From KHL to 1st NHL pair....heck of a promotion for Larsen.  Can we wait to see if he can at least hold his own on the bottom pair before giving him 25min/game.

Oilers' players have much more potential/ceiling obviously, but also riskier.  Canucks players are more proven, consistent, with limited ceiling.

I'm not against trading Tanev and Hansen because their value right now is probably at the highest it will ever be, however, RNH and Yakupov' struggles is not worth it IMO.

Would folks quit thinking Yak is going to be this amazing superstar, and face it, from what's he's done he's a solid scoring forward, that brings little else to his game. Horvat has only played 2 seasons and he's already at 40 points. Yak has gotten 33, and Bo was only 1 goal shy of tying Yak's goals in a season mark.

Tarasenko from the Blues, has played in 4 seasons, has scored 37 and 40 goals the past two seasons. Scored 74 points last year.  Oh, and he was drafted 16th overall.

The difference between Yak and Tarasenko is night and day. The only thing is it's possible that Yak might "break out" as he's 2 years younger. But Yak's lack of motivation to me would be worrying. If I was Edmonton I'd move Yak and try and get a defensive prospect out of trading him.

RNH is a BC boy from Burnaby.  He is a legit 1C and to be from BC is just a bonus.

And Yak makes same as Hansen this year and then is RFA.  Make him prove his worth.  I think his yak of motivation is caused from the Oilers organization.  They basically failed his development and I sure glad the Canucks aren't going to do same to Virts.  Let these kids grow.  There are threads on here that suggest keeping Virts in the NHL this year.  If he needs time, jus effin let him.  and thats all i gotta say bout that lol

And yes, Larsen is up in the air but there are other options like PTO's (Quincy or Seidenberg).  Larsen is the cheaper option with international experience, and ya lol.

There is never going to be the best time to trade any of these guys.  I not for one who is waiting until they turn 35 or 36 to figure out that its too darn late to make any quality return in our old investments.

right on... he was 4 points shy in 13-14 and 14-15, but yup he lacking

He sure it. especially compared to his counter parts Monahan, Mackinnon & Scheifele.   RNH has been in the NHL for 5 years, he hasn't shown signs of improvement or that he can handle the physicality of the NHL.

Bo horvat has a greater chance of being a #1 center than RNH and will likely pass RNH career high before Bo reaches the 23 year old mark RNH is at now.

Would like to get RNH but not so much Yakupov. I think we are giving up too much. Remember, Larsson got Hall. Is Tanev that much worse than Larsson or is RNH better than Hall?

If Larsson gets you Hall, Tanev gets you RNH.

I don't know how good this LaLeggia guy is but giving up Hansen + Granlund + our 1st + Grenier for  Yakupov + LaLeggia + 5th round pick doesn't make sense. Heck, our 1st alone or Hansen along probably can get Yakpuov at this stage, why do we need to give up Hansen + 1st?

Although I would like to get RNH, giving up Tanev doesn't seem like a good idea at this point. Maybe one or two years later, if Henrik noticeably declines?

Yeah but having RNH means we get our #1-#2 centers. Both players can score 60-70 point range. Sutter will be #3 center.

I would go for Yakipov! trade Hansen +  Sbsia straight across, Our lines would be lil bit stronger! Maybe even make a good run for playoffs. Possibly even making it pass first round? I know it looks like a pretty lop sided trade... But it could be worth the risk!

Sedin Sedin Ericksson

Yakipov Sutter Rodin

Baertschi Horvat Virtanen

Etem Granlund Burrows/Dorsett

Edler Tanev

Hutton Gudbranson

Tryamkin Larsen/Subban

Miller

Markstrom

That would be a solid team to have. Possibly even make playoffs! Young core, pretty talented, lots of potential! sky's the limit. scary team to play against, couple years down the road!
