Provost
Just saw the picture of Manny on the home page attending the Fishing for Kids event. I guess that means the unpleasant way things ended with the previous regime is water under the bridge, and that is great to see. I was worried that we would never see his face again in regards to team stuff. I would really love to see him in the hockey ops department in some capacity with our team. He was a leader for us right from before his first season started. I remember news stories showing the players doing their informal skates at UBC before training camp and he was leading drills and being looked to even from our veteran players. He went on to emcee lots of our charity events and be a big part of the community side of things. Solid character guy and seemed really smart. Player development? Community Liaison? Scout? Face-off coach? Heck, not sure if he still plans on playing in the AHL next season. Having Mike Keane and Nolan Baumgartner on the Moose was a massive part of the development of a lot of our last generation of core guys... we could sure use something like that again. LegionOfDoom
Would love to see him get a coaching job under WD. Deff one of my favourite bottom 6 forwards we have ever had. I feel like he would be a great guy to have around for the defensive aspect of the game for our younger forwards
HerrDrFunk
I would love to see him coaching face offs. He had a career win rate of 56.4% and his numbers from 2009 to 2015 are insane.

That kind of lends itself to maybe working a part-time position with the Canucks while maybe doing some unrelated business.
Slegr
The idea of him being a face off coach is nice, especially since we are pitiful at face offs. But I wonder how effective it would be. I think he has a natural talent with it that likely doesn't lend itself easily to be taught down. It's like hiring Pavel Bure to be a scoring coach. I'd guess You generally either have it or you don't by the time you're in the NHL.

It's like going up to a fat lady and asking if she has ever been on a diet...... I think faceoffs, a lot of it just comes down to reaction speed......I wonder how many hours Hank has spent practising faceoffs in his life. Probably hundreds of hours. Stanley's Kup
Manny has always been one of those stand-up kinda guys that has always held himself well. I put him in the same category as far as personalities go with the likes of Joe Sakic, Steve Yzerman, and Markus Naslund. He would do us well to placed under player personnel and have him mentor the younger guys. Besides he loves it in Vancouver.

insomniac604
I liked Manny a lot. Mostly for his FO prowess. I believe, even before his eye injury, that it was the face-offs that kept him in a permanent role. Once he got hit, I fully sympathize with letting him go. I was also very proud of him for coming back for a couple of seasons. But his results proved that while he could still face off, his playing days were over. We should definitely add him to the coaching staff. Bo is just above 50% and could use help. Sutter is way above it but can use practice. Also, Henrik has been dropping steadily the last couple of years. I don't believe it's his ability, but his health that has affected the draws. He could definitely learn some ways to win one without straining his body so much. Especially if he insists on playing injured.
Crabcakes
He was on 1040 a month or so ago. I think he said that he lived in Van but it could have been Vic. He has run with the Whitecaps. At any rate, he lives locally, is a Canuck alum so it's natural that he is involved with some Canuck related charity. Would love to see him involved with the club officially. Coach? Mentor? PrinceGeorgeGoon
Class act! I know one thing, you can't have too many of those around. I'm glad he kept his eye, I was disappointed to lose him when the injury occurred, it felt like we kind of tossed him aside and gave up once the doctor explained the extent of his injury. In retrospect, I understand the business and I belive you just have to make the most of what you are given. Manny turning up for this charitable event tells me, for him, everything is going to be OK. As an aside, a personal thank you to all charitable individuals, like manny, on this board, in our communities and alike. Thank you.

Rush17
Manny was on tsn 1040 saying he wants to be a coach. He loves the west coast and wants to stay out here. He wouldn't tip his hat but based on all the evidence Vancouver seems likely. My question is what is taking so long. He said in the interview he would have an idea in the next few days. Believe we're coming up too almost 2 weeks since. Maybe nux wanna take their time and decide.
