Bertuzzi44ever
It happens to every single team, basically every single year. i can pick out multiple players for most teams of teams who had disappointing seasons. i see multiple people saying they can't wait to see the young guys improve like Baer horvat virtanen tree Hutton, etc... so will it be a sophomore slump? Ben Hutton? Expectations for this kid have risen extremely high and I think people need to tone it down a notch. Remember how dominant Tyler Myers was in 2010 winning the Calder trophy or Barrett jackman and those guys won hardware. Not saying those two d men are trash but not every player performs to expectation each season. its easily possible two or more of the guys I named above may regress rather then exceed expectations. or it can be a free agent like eriksson, veterans like the sedins or Miller? so who is most likely to dissapoint us this year? not everyone will improve. Jägermeister
Hansen. And I don't necessarily mean that in a negative way, it's just that he exceeded expectations last year in a way that was well outside the norm. He will probably go back to being a 15 goal 30 point (ish) player next year, and I can see a lot of people being really disappointed in that. When he doesnt play with the Sedins as much he will go back to his fringe 3rd liner production rate.

That's a good question OP. I hope it's not Larsen or Rodin. Actually, I hope all Canucks have a good season.
HerrDrFunk
I actually have a good feeling about Hutton. I think he'll match or exceed his production from last year.

Fateless
I tried to get through the post and think of a thoughtful response, but I kept getting distracted by that bright red -35 reputation. That's impressive.

That's impressive. Must be tough taking the devils advocate role on this site. Given the thread itself puts attention on whom of our burgeoning young folk is in for a regression I think I'll make a hard pass on this one. Although according to the Hockey News none of our young folk are supposed to impress with the exception of Horvat. Changed my mind. Hutton 43pts Edler 35 Try 19 Virtanen 33 Baerstchi 49 Horvat 53 Rodin 48 Larson 29 Book it.
6string
A little off topic but my guess is your article is gonna slump big time.

CDC I was going to say the OP, for when no one really slumps after his negative thread. CDC is probably true though, in the best chicken little fashion of course for those that are the loudest and most irrational.

Sorry op you are a great poster but he didn't make it the first time and he is coming off a very significant injury. As a fan I would be happy to buy 100 pints to see a longshot score 50ish points at a $1m contract.

luckylager
It might not be a young player... I'm thinking it's Willy D who's going to be the most disappointing member of the Canucks. Hey, maybe he's changed and will "line match", or actually use fresh players in the third instead of riding vets to death and putting splinters in young butts. I have a feeling though, and I'd be happy to be wrong, but Willy's gonna sing the same Willy song. All season long. Coaching disappointment. Kevin Biestra
In reality, I would say that Hutton is in position for the sophomore jinx if anyone is going to get hit with bad timing. Hansen will probably come back to earth slightly... And age may continue to work away at the Sedins.
