Rush17
I was curious if anyone knows where to buy Gold and Silver in Canada. I was looking to invest in some at a reasonable rate. The Canadian mint seems to have some good options but if I'm understanding it right there are some expensive premiums on some of their coins or small blocks. Does anyone know where to purchase quality gold and silver in denominations like 1/10th of an oz, 1/2 oz, an oz and beyond. Please let me know :D If u do. Just starting learning about this stuff today!
Rush17
It looks like TD and Scotiabank both have them? Can you walk in and ask for some lol. I have never seen that so I would be surprised. Looking for coins that won't cost me an arm and a leg. These look good but I have to call and ask for price: http://www.mint.ca/store/content/bullionProductDetails.jsp?itemId=prod2160012&cat=Products&nodeGroup=About+the+Mint Might be a high premium on them. Nuxfanabroad
I wanted the gold, & I sought it; I scrabbled & mucked like a slave. Was it famine or scurvy - I fought it; Hurled my youth into a grave. I wanted the gold, & I got it- Came out with a fortune last fall, Yet somehow life's not what I thought it, & somehow the gold isn't all. ~Robert Service
Crabcakes
This is obvious but try google. The Vancouver Bullion and Currency Exchange has several outlets that they are advertising will give you better rates than banks. there's a reddit thread and they seem to like VBCE
WHL rocks
Go to your bank. Order it and pick it up when it arrives, doesn't take long. There are other options but this is best way if you've never bought it before.

Reddit probably would of been a great place to start! I live in Victoria though so not sure what options are here. I'll have to google for Bullions in victoria i guess? Whats the defintion of a Bullion? I appreciate all of your guys help!
TheAce
silver gold and bull is respectable but check and see what shipping would be first. also take a look on kijiji and you may find some local dealers
Curmudgeon
In Vancouver, try J&M Coin and Jewellry on East Broadway just east of Manitoba St. Go to their website for detailed information about buying or selling gold bullion and/or coins. Their prices are good and they have a broad selection. I also sold off some old junk silver coins for melt value and they were by far the most generous of a few places I tried. clam linguine
Have a look at kitco.com. I go there for metals market info and notice they have an online store. It is a great website. http://www.kitco.com/
Dittohead
silvergoldbull.ca I have bought from there before. Try some pawn shops out as well.
Standing_Tall#37
Pmx - precious metals exchange, google it. Or scotia micotta. If you live in the lower mainland it should be feasible, where I live shipping of it costs huge so I'd have to go to Van to pick it up when I looked into it. If you are in Vancouver, this is the best place to go, i've bought about 95% of my bullion from here. Just a heads up, I wouldnt buy fraction ounce coins, the premiums are crazy high, just save until you can buy a full ounce. Stick to big mint coins (eg. American Eagles, Canadian Maples, Chinese Panda, Australian Kookaburra etc) or recognized bars. You will be paying a little more but will have an easier time reselling. Lastly, if for investment purposes, dont buy collectables, stick to bullion.

The premiums on some coins are insane!
mdehaan
If you want to pay 0 premiums for your bullion and you don't mind having it stored with Brinks etc (outside the banking system) then try: wwpmc.com Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.
