I keep on thinking how hard it will be to replace Henrik, it is not so much Daniel, because he can be replace through free agency (aka how we went out and signed Louie), but it just appears to be difficult to go and sign a UFA #1 center, unless you want to sign a Stamkos for what apparently was a 14 million dollar price tag.

This leads me to our next 2 years and how important our draft will be. So we plan on drafting a first line center in both the next 2 years and we either get a  future #1 and another #1 or we end up with a 3 very strong #2's counting Bo.

This is not including Brendon Sutter, who along with Bo will be great mentors for 2 young rookie centermen, either of which should also be able to play wing if need be.

Now this season can not come quick enough, and I have hope, but in the mean time, I can't help but think of the positive growth we will see in the next few years.

And as much as I have critisized  Benning in the past, we are in a much better spot than either Edmonton or Calgary were with thier lack of management during their rebuilds...

Not a great post, but I am really looking forward to this season. If there isn't any growth, then the deadline will be interesting, if there is, well then, I make a lot of money with Vegas, as I bet on the Canucks to make the playoffs......either way we win and the team moves forward..

Maybe JB thinks Bo can rock the 1c+C, which is why McCann was easily moved for Gud?

Which looks like a fleecing after the Chiarelli "ummmmm, okay?".

And we are building a pretty decent back end which could very well trade itself into a blockbuster centerman...

Man..... hockey, I miss you. Xox

I understand Chon, but only Bo is young.....so we rebuild through the draft with centers....elite or high end centers, ones that have high IQ and can play wing if given that assignment

i know, i was just showing how keen they are at beefing up on that position

For sure. I've seen it written that Zuch has that top 6 potential, and Benning being the scout he is may have uncovered a gem, but the kid's a project, not a blue chip.

He's also gone hard for D. Hopefully our D glut hits right as a young, elite C hits RFA and everything works out for a blockbuster trade.

That'd be awesome!

Here I was hoping for a stronger Bergeron..

Similar style, but Bo has some really sick hands sometimes that remind me more of Toews. Aside from that, he's sorta like Bergeron too.

Three strong #2's would definitely be an upgrade and could potentially be interchangeable up front. If they were all 2 way men with 3 # 2's I'd be more than happy than the alternative of 1 #2 and 3 #3-4.

Exactly! More than one way to ice a strong team. Not everyone turns out, but my bet is we will be able to produce some good players from the 2nd a 3rd rounds also.....if Benning keeps the picks.

Especially if we move some vets within the year....aka Miller, Edler, Hansen, Burrows. My bet at least one gets moved this TDL....then again, Benning doesn't do to much of that, so we will See!
