Now there are protesting animals shooting each other and trying to burn a photo journalist alive.

Can you explain what's happening in the clip?  The two people on the ground shot each other?  Are these gang members?

There are protesters marching near a hotel in uptown Charlotte.  The second guy shown looks like he got shot in the head by possibly the first guy.  My guess is that the crowd jumped on the first guy after he fired.  It just happened 90 min. ago so the story is a but sketchy right now.

The guy who was shot for sure is on life support at the hospital now.

A cop shot a civilian, so the civilians are trying to get even by shooting each other.. Wait, what?

Yep.  Between that and trying to throw a photojournalist into a fire, I'm going to refer to the guilty ones as animals.

Why do so many people hate one another down there?  Living in Vancouver, this open - visceral hatred I see coming from the US is really hard to understand.  Am I wrong thinking Canadians and Americans are pretty much the same?

There is a decent amount of racism in America.  It's just finally starting to boil over.

Canada doesn't have as big of a racism problem and there are few handguns there.

I see.  It's really sad though.  It's like if those people didn't have guns though, their hatred is so deep they would use rocks.  I guess there's no easy solution.

Case in point.  This guy gets out of his car, pulls a gun and the cops calmly go up to him and tell him to drive away.

Maybe you guys should start importing RCMP to police these problem areas?  Maybe using local police only makes matter a lot worse?

The RCMP would either freak out and start shooting at everyone or wouldn't freak out enough and get shot.  Gun violence isn't Canada's strong suit.

The RCMP, when dressed in their red classics, are well known and respected.  Perhaps their presence would calm the crowds, by conveying their government is trying to make visible change?  I know it won't happen though.  Not a chance the US allows a foreign police force on their soil.

What can be done, do you think?

The thug element would mock them in their uniforms.  It unfortunately wouldn't work.

The only thing that can really be done is wait.  Racism will die slowly with the passing of each successive generation.

Eventually everybody will be mutts and have a bit of White, Black, and Brown in them.

Then we can all kill each other over religious differences.  :(
