I'd probably lean towards Larsen to start the season and give him a month to show that he deserves to be here. Benning has said that he wants to keep 8 guys here, my guess is that he sees a couple of guys that he doesn't want to play every night, but wants to give them the opportunity to show that they can elevate their game. I agree. I think Larsen will be given every opportunity to establish himself simply because our PP desperately needs a specialist Dman back there to quarter back it. Last year the PP was terrible largely because penalty killers could neutralize the Sedins and not have to worry about a shot coming in from the blue line. I think that GMJB will give it until mid Nov and then pull the trigger if Larsen is still struggling.

I like Ruttu, just my gut and opinion. One thing I hope happens, and im sure to get blasted for this, but I would love to see Dorrset gone We have enough big bodied D to stand up for our guys. Personally, I think he is a waste of a roster spot. just my opinion.

I won't be at all surprised if they send Stecher down so that he's getting immediate playing time with Utica and tell him to be ready to come back. Give him a couple of things to work on as a smaller player. People forget that as good as he's looked, he's looked good against Pre-Season teams. We haven't seen how he handles a team the size of Anaheim or Los Angeles yet, in full regular season form.

He can actually play hockey, If he was just a fighter I would agree with you, but he could get a place on the 4th line by merit of his play. Sticks up for his team mates, will drop gloves with anyone in the league, skates well, kicks in the occasional goal. He's the type of guy who can inspire other guys by throwing a hit against the biggest guy on the other team and change the whole dynamic of a game. He's the type of energy guy you need on a team these days.

His skills are mediocre and I would say the same about his defensive skills. The only thing that looks appealing is his speed. Unless he's waiting to break out and show everyone why he's so special. I'd put my eggs in Stechers basket if I were WD and JB.

I just hope he doesn't stay at the cost of a roster spot deserving of someone else who might bring more than what he brings. Again I may be totally wrong I guess it all comes down to what they do with Emerson. If him and Dor stay wouldn't that mean Gaunce would be the odd man out? since burrows isn't going anywhere? And for what it's worth Ruttu could also be a spark if he doesn't have a repeat of last year.

Now, if he stops bringing it, then by all means, time to move on!

On this one I don't think he needs to worry about losing face when you look at who we gave up. He took a player who hadn't reached his potential and traded him for a guy that he thought would fit a role we needed. The fact that Jensen was put on waivers shows that it was a pretty equal trade. I still think Etem can play a role here if he's sent down to Utica for a bit.

Just not sure who would be on the 4th line as a centre. Damn Granny for showing he is better than a 4th line player lol.

Right now I think most teams have players similar to Etem that they're taking a look at. But the longer they wait, the better the chance someone will be willing to take a chance on him. I think there will be teams that would rather take on Etem than sign a PTO for a 4th line role. It's risky because maybe Etem is just a slow starter. You'd hate to see a Grabner like situation where another team benefits from a young waiver wire pickup.

There is now a better support cast in the forwards, better for AB's type of game (special teams included),. and maybe less for Dorsett's

I don't think it will effect Gaunce, he's a completely different type of player. I think he will make the team on the 4th line but, I see Gaunce as a type of guy who can really move up and down in the lineup as well. Can't see him ever becoming a first line guy, but I think he has better than average hand, eye coordination, so I could see him occupying the front of the net on the second power play. Really hope he makes it!
