[2016-2017] Canuck Prospect Stats Tracker

Recommended Posts

OP Updated.

Also, I've added a new column showing a player's points per game average the year prior. This average is only shown if (a) the player was playing in the same league last year, and (b) the player had more than 10 games in that league. This will allow for a crude comparison in terms of player development.

The guys in the Q and the OHL are all having great starts. From the UND coach's comments, it sounds like Boeser might have been hurt even while playing, which might explain his stunted production.

Demko seems to be getting used to the AHL. He's on a 3 game win streak.

OP updated with stats through December 23rd (the last update of 2016)

Tryamkin has quietly become the third highest scoring defenceman of the 2014 draft. Last night's goal helped him unseat Gustav Forsling. Tryamkin is only 79 points behind Ekblad for the lead :P

Of those in the 2014 draft, the Canucks drafted 4 of the top 25 scorers.

Other than that monumental milestone, nothing much has happened as CHL/NCAA is mostly shutdown, especially with most of the Canucks' top prospects attending WJC selection camps.

OP updated with stats through December 31st.

Not a lot to get excited about in Utica, but in the NCAA, Gaudette and Lockwood have become key players for their respective teams. In the Q, Carl Neil leads the league in points by a dman, but I wouldn't read too much into that. Long history of over-agers flourishing in the Q.

I am excited to see Zhukenov step up and is now over a p/pg. Brisebois on the other hand has regressed a bit. In the WHL, Stukel has been playing much better since his very slow start to the year in Calgary.

In terms of Castaways, there is much to smile about. McCann has had more fights than points in the last couple weeks.

OP updated with stats through January the 7th.

Not a lot to get excited about in Utica, but Demko had a great game last night.

Hoped that Brisebois would put up some points during the WJHC, but he's gone pointless in three. Neil pointless in two, but now that he and Brisebois are on the same team, hopefully they can get some chemistry.

Juolevi with a goal and an assist in his first game back from the WJHC. Stukel has been at about a p/pg average since a rough first 10 games to start the season.

The NCAA is where things are most positive.

Still too early, but the Granlund trade seems to have really worked in the Canucks' favor.

McCann recalled by the Panthers after an unimpressive stint in the AHL.

OP updated with stats through Saturday Jan 14th.

Demko back in form after a tough time during a 9ish game losing streak for Utica.

Brisebois and Neil are now teammates; Brisebois was a p/pg the last week.

Juolevi continuing his p/pg pace since about the 15 game mark of the season.

Lockwood is injured.

Stukel continues to score, but he was drafted a year late ('97 bday compared to Juolevi at '98).

Lockwood was back for a game no? Did he hurt himself since coming back?

OP Updated.

Good time for defencemen. Stetcher moved into the top 5 in rookie dmen scoring. Juolevi moved into the top 15 in OHL d scoring. The way he's been playing since the WJHC he's likely to finish in the top 7-8 by the end of the year. Subban in the top 15 in AHL scoring among dmen despite playing on the offensively inept Comets. Carl Neil third among QMJHL dmen in points... he seems to be finding his stride after being traded to Charlottetown.

Tough return from injury for Boeser. Gaudette continues to light it up.
