And when we need the "muscle" we call him up...

Bruce Boudreau
Sounds like Stecher and Virtanen and Guance even and could be headed to the minors. This simplifies things means nobody else is getting out on waivers. The Canucks will have good young players to recall worry free when the time is right. Only question is if Etem and Biega both stay for now which PTO gets signed? Ruutu or Skille? If Skille can play 4C like Cracknel last year then he is the guy. Ruutu can play center but Skille is strictly a winger. I think there may be a chance Gaunce sticks. I don't think Etem would be picked up on waivers and it might serve him well to play in Utica for awhile. I think Gaunce has shown enough not only to stick but be a part of the opening night roster. I have him over Burrows as well.
Bruce Boudreau
Just now, Where's Wellwood said: Why sign a PTO player rather than play Gaunce? I dunno maybe it's easier that way if all the young guys get sent down together then they won't feel left out with one guy making it. Plus Guance can be recalled without waivers if the PTO guy falters so you can stsrt the year with an experienced 4th line. What happens with Etem though? We'll see either way don't care much whether Guance makes the team.
Outsiders
Wow sounds like Gaunce, Stecher and Virtanen could potentially all start in the minors
GreyHatnDart
Ballsy move sending Pedan through waivers. Thank god he cleared, CDC would've imploded.
Harvey Spector
It would be a travesty if Etem, Skille or Ruutu stick over Gaunce, simply because he's eligible to go down to Utica without waivers. Gaunce is NHL ready. He needs to play with the big boys... NOW.....

DJSkingz
They need to be really careful here. The reason Stecher chose us is management showed that they stick to their word when they say that they will make room for a young guy if he shows he deserves to be here. Well Stecher sure has. If they send him down it will send the wrong message. They need to waive Etem. He has shown nothing that screams "I want a spot on this team". I also think he would clear. If he doesn't then we really don't lose that much.

I like what Benning has been doing. Go Jim Go! P.S. - So glad that Pedan cleared waivers, now we can bring him back every time we play Calgary or L.A. (not necessarily but it's nice to have the added muscle when we need it)
