CRAZY_4_NAZZY
So two former 1st overall picks have been dealt by the Coilers..... RNH come on up!
the harry
Housecleaning is a good thing, but man, giving another first overall away for peanuts makes the oilers tanking years looking really stupid.
King Heffy
Like this trade for the Blues. Low risk, high reward. Benning wouldn't have gotten him for such a low price being a division rival. Guy just needs to go to an NHL team rather than that joke in Edmonton.
ruilin96
Keep this up Peter, we are going to offering you a 2nd for RNH
FijianCanuck
Atleast Chiarelli is making the moves. Wonder what Chicago was offering?
DeNiro
Maybe the dumbest part of this (besides the return) is trading him within the conference. Nobody in the East was willing to take him? And even if it becomes a 2nd, that is likely going to be a late second from St.Louis.
nuckin_futz
We should offer Cole Cassels and a 4th for McDavid. Don't laugh, they might go for it.

Simply making moves is not always the best thing. Chiarelli has basically signaled to the rest of the league that his young castaways can be had for dirt cheap. I can't imagine what the Nuge is going to fetch if the day comes when they trade him.
Rush17
Just now, the harry said: Houseclearing is a good thing, but man, giving another first overall away for peanuts makes the oilers tanking years looking really stupid. I feel bad for any oiler fans. could you imagine what an oiler fan would think of you went back before yak was drafted. if the oiler traded Taylor hall and their 1st round pick for an underperforming Adam Larrson and a 3rd round pick. mind blown
Darius
And we thought the combo of Lowe and mctavish were dolts!!
Honky Cat
There must be a bigger plan in play..Oilers obviously just trying to ditch salary...
Warhippy
Their board is all but dead. But cannot wait to read some of the no doubt ensuing comments that will pour in here http://fans.oilers.nhl.com/community/topic/17209-nail-yakupov-traded-to-the-blues/ Also, Pachiro is all but an ECHL enforcer, he's like dead weight. So essentially a 3rd. He went for a frigging 3rd. Dammit...I almost cannot wait to see him just absolutely destroy the league as a perennial 30 goal scorer now that he's somewhere good with structure defense and some solid young forwards to grow with. Vinny in Vancouver
All of a sudden, all the Sbisa + Biega + Pedan + second rounder for McDavid is starting to look more and more plausible.
Rush17
this deal is arguably worse then Seguin for Eriksson. Eriksson is at least a world class player!
Warhippy
I wish we still had Vey...we could have offered them Vey for Yakupov and a 2nd
Honky Cat
This trade certainly makes Yak a pretty spectacular 1st overall bust...so far

It's going to take work and time to beat the Oiler out of him. Hopefully for him it's not too late. I think Hall got lucky as well.
Alflives
Didn't Chirelli defend the obvious poor return for Hall with some stupid comment about the Oilers are in a difficult situation, and their core guys (from the last few years) have baggage attached, or something like that? Alf thinks if another of the Oiler FOUR go it's Eberle. He's gotta be worth something decent, no?
DeNiro
1 minute ago, Warhippy said: I wish we still had Vey...we could have offered them Vey for Yakupov and a 2nd No way he trades within the division. I'm surprised he even traded within the conference to be honest.
