Is the second episode any good? I was disappointed with the first and I'm not even sure if I'm going to bother with the second. Somehow it's getting super high audience praise on metacritic and imbd though.

I honestly don't know mate. I loved both episodes. In my experience though its usually best to watch a few episodes before you decide whether a show is worth watching. But maybe this just isn't for you. We all have different tastes after all, I know shows which everyone loved but I couldn't stand so I know how that goes.

@Beluga Whale

the first episode took 25 minutes to get me interested.  I was really looking forward to this show.

WestWorld episode 2 last night:

man.  What is this show doing?

10-12 minutes of anything coming close to good acting or dialogue.

if I wasn't away from home this series would not justify any kind of priority viewing from what I've seen so far from it.

Re Hopkins:. You nailed it.  His scene was terrible.  In the first episode he bright me in with his first scene.  Last night he put me off.

ed Harris character is cheesy too. His script is over done and clichéd - too many weak one line quips for every action.  Borderline Arnould Schwarzenegger.

and your absolutely right about not hooking the viewer early enough.  When the scenes go to the Westworld now I start to cringe.

i think I'll stick to quarry and watch this at a later date if I run out of options.

The 1973 original movie with Yul Brynner and James Brolin is a classic.

It scared the heck out of me when I was a kid.

Yeah there was something just, creepy about it that made me feel uneasy...

I'm enjoying the new adaption.

So it's not addressed to myself (any more) but I like to add my 2 cents anyways.

I agree with you about scenes with Hopkins in ep 2, but the Harris scenes are meant to be like that. It's his fantasy. It should naturally be cheesy etc.

I haven't seen a lot of his work.  I'm sure there are some movies I've watched that he has been in but they don't jump out at me.  Therefore I'm not sure if it's Ed Harris being Ed Harris, bad writing, bad acting, on purpose or all of it combined.

maybe it's supposed to be cheesy but if so it's really turning me off his character.  And considering he is a major character so far - the show as well.

Yes.  This is one plus to the show for sure.  I hope they continue to develop this.

It is the main theme from what I can tell. I feel the "in game" plot with Ed Harris will tie in with it

Best new show on TV imo and I am very excited to see where it goes. Has the potential to be the next big thing honestly.

Great show, but when I saw the first fly I thought Hillary was a robot as one landed on her face at the debate.
