Minnesota Wild:

MVP - Kirill Kaprizov
Most points - Kirill Kaprizov
Top Goal Scorer - (tie) Sven Bartschi & Nikita Popugayev (25)
Best Defenseman: Dennis Cholowski
Biggest Surprise: Nikita Popugayev
Top Rookie: Jean Guy Periard

Pros:

-Back to Back Leading scoring seasons for Kaprizov

-Bartschi settled in nicely on the 2nd line

-Periard had great numbers before the team bottomed out at the end of the year

-Popugayev had his best season yet and put his career back on track

Cons:

-Parise and Suter are shadows of their former selves.

-Team as a whole took way too many penalties and the PK was too mediocre to handle it.

-No 30 goal scorers and highest point average by a player was .76

-Downward overall trend reached new low. The end of an era could be upon the franchise.

Offseason Outlook:

-TBD! Good draft year to be picking low. Where and what happens to our pick will shape our offseason direction!

Good luck to teams in the playoffs. Lots of interesting matchups.

MVP - Anthony Mantha (24G - 47A - 71Pts +10)
Most points - Alexander Barkov (73pts)
Top Goal Scorer - Jonathan Huberdeau (34G)

Top Playmaker - Anthony Mantha (47A)
Best Defenseman - Viktor Antipin (7G - 35A - 42Pts Even)
Unsung Hero: Rickard Rakell
Top Rookie: Biff Hanna

Most Exciting -  Nick Ritchie (315 Hits)

PROS:

- Had a strong finish to the season

-Mantha, Ritchie Bros trades from 2 seasons ago was well worth it

- Gained 3 great 8.0 D prospects to build for the future

- Great secondary scoring again

CONS:

- Missing playoffs 2nd year in a row after making it to east final

- 4th line still struggled

- Defense isnt the strongest that it has been, work in progress

- Petr Mrazek: Goes from elite goalie to an average joe this year. He is still young however... We believe that this may just be a blip on the radar

Overview:

The Panthers are, but arent happy with this season. We believe we cashed in on some core players this year and got great payments for them and for our future. We made a late run and just fell short of the playoffs though I believe that we were really close. We can build with the team we still have with a few tweaks. We will have some cap next year and we will look to make some deals in a sense to fix the defensive struggles that we have had. Our scouts tell us that our young D that we acquired require a bit more time in the AHL, So we will look to surround them with players if we can to make our AHL team much better! We dont plan on being to active, We may shop our 1st to obtain a Dman, But we would be more then happy to make a selection.

Pittsburgh Penguins:

MVP - Daniel Sprong

- strong season with 89 points on the year and didn't slow down after losing his two main C's to trades (Crosby/Malkin)

Most points - Gustav Nyqvist

- 94 points on the year, a career best

- also led the team with 45 goals

Best Defenseman: Gustav Forsling

- helped ease the loss of Letang with a solid 41 points on the year while being used in all situations

- career high ATOI

Biggest Surprise: Robby Fabbri

- honestly did not expect much more than 45-55 points as a 2nd liner

- exploded offensively with a career high of 87 points while playing the majority of the season with Crosby/Malkin and later Roslovic/Fojtik

Top Rookie: Jiri Fojtik

- despite only joining the Penguins at trade deadline as a major part of the Malkin deal he formed instant chemistry with our top 6 wingers (Sprong/Kessel/Nyqvist/Fabbri) and was around PPG in that time

- was sound defensively and excellent in the dot which was a pleasant surprise

Looking forward to the draft and having the Rangers 1st rounder being a top 14 pick :D

Well that was a pretty decent season. It didn't really go as I expected but the end result was reasonable

For the first 50ish games I had one of the worst offensive teams in the league and was only in a playoff position thanks to my defense and a bounceback season from Saros.

After changing up my strategies a bit and trading for Stastny and Krys, my team changed completely. Somehow, I finished with the most goals of any Western team and 3rd in the NHL. Defensively, the team declined slightly and ended up 8th in goals against. Saros came down to earth a bit, but still finished with a respectable .910 save percentage, good enough for 14th in the league.

Perhaps the most interesting and hopeful thing about my team this year is the way my scoring was spread out. Neal and Johansen weren't among the league's best players this year, each finishing with a respectable but not dominant 81 points. My 4th line was the best it's ever been - Rodin had 48 points, Lindberg had 44, and Jarnkrok had 35. But neither of these things came as huge surprises. The real surprise was that all 4 lines were decent for once. My 3rd line of Kamenev - Staal - Hagelin was the best I've had since season 1, and my 2nd line of Forsberg - Stastny - Watson is the best I've ever had, with all 3 of them getting 67 or more points.

The first round series against Colorado will be difficult. This is a team that's had my number since the beginning when they upset my President's Trophy winning team in round 1. But statistically, our teams are very even. Both had 103 points, and both got 9 of their wins in the shootout, which means nothing in the playoffs. Hopefully it's a good series.

Nashville Team Awards

Most Valuable Player: Ryan Johansen - despite a very slow start, he picked it up and is my leading scorer once again

Most Exciting Player: Filip Forsberg - it can't be James Neal every season, I'm guessing the fans found Forsberg's first elite season more exciting

Best Defenseman: Roman Josi - didn't have a regular partner this year unfortunately, but was still an absolute rock on the backend for me

Unsung Hero: Jordan Staal - Overshadowed by my best offensive players, he still had a solid season offensively with 40 points and was great defensively

St. Louis Blues

Yet again, a disappointment. But, we acquired tons of young assets, here's hoping some pan out...

MVP--As always, Tarasenko. Rocket Richard trophy winner with 53 goals.

Rookie--Zenchikov. 25 goals as a rookie and 50 points, excited to see him develop.

Dman--Dunn, although pretty underwhelming year in the back end.

Unsung--Perlini quietly had another solid year on the second line.

That's about it. With about 30 million in cap opening up this year, St. Louis will be focused on centres and a proper goalie. It will depend how the draft goes as we currently have two 1sts and five 2nds. Also need to think ahead to next post season when essentially the entire team has their contracts up...

Pre everything lines

Strickrott - Yamamoto - Tarasenko

Perlini - XXX - Zenchikov

Fraser - XXX - Gibson

XXX - Eakin - XXX

Rattie/Rychel

Dunn - Emberson

Zboril - Montour

XXX - Tilander

Husso

Crawford
