Patrick Kane
Detroit 53 - 20 - 9 Key players: Tyler Toffoli RW - 39g/50a/89ptsLeon Draisaitl C - 33g/44a/77ptsGabriel Landeskog LW - 32g/50a/82pts Michael Matheson D - 4g/43a/47pts Tuuka Rask G vs Ottawa 39 - 32 - 11 Key players: Mike Hoffman LW - 32g/51a/83ptsLogan Brown C - 27g/32a/59ptsBobby Ryan RW - 35g/37a/72pts Torey Krug D - 2g/40a/42pts Pekka Rinne G Ottawa was the team successfully able to land the 8th seed in the East, but have a tough task ahead of them, against the powerhouse Red Wings. Great depth all around, from forward core to defense, backstopped by a top goaltender in Tuuka Rask. Detroit has this in the bag, but Ottawa may able to steal this series if Pekka Rinne can perform like his old self. Ottawa has the offense to power through, but they just let in too many goals. Subban D - 4g/39a/43pts Malcolm Subban G A cinderella season for the Philadelphia Flyers, on paper you don't think much of them, but the veterans have stepped up, and a good crop of young players have pushed Philadelphia to the top of the league. Likely Vezina winner Martin Jones has outperformed every goalie in the league significantly. But Boston is a very strong team, adding Crosby and Simmonds at the deadline, and tons of weapons upfront and in the backend with Subbam, Gostisbehere and McAvoy. The question is, will Malcolm Subban be able to hold up?
Patrick Kane
Toronto 53 - 22 - 7 Key players:Jamie Benn LW - 36/57a/93ptsWilliam Nylander C - 38g/56a/94ptsAuston Matthews C - 35a/51/85pts Morgan Reilly D - 12g/42a/54pts John Gibson G vs Tampa Bay 47 - 29 - 6 Key players:Patrick Kane RW - 40g/45a/85ptsJonathan Drouin LW - 40g/43a/83ptsMilos Roman LW - 38g/38a/76pts Duncan Keith D - 5g/38a/43pts Ben Bishop G Toronto has added alot of pieces this year, Jordan Eberle, Henrik Lundqvist, David Savard and John Gibson. Lethal upfront, with two great scoring lines, and one of the best defenses in the league. No more Frederik Andersen in net, as they have two strong starting goalies now. Tampa Bay has the best 2nd line the league in Drouin-Johnson-Kucherov, and an impressive top line with Roman-Getzlaf-Kane. Keith and Hedman will be logging alot of minutes, and deadline acquisition Kevin Shattenkirk will also be heavily leaned on. Ben Bishop has bounced back from last year, and needs to continue his strong play. Series could go either way, although Toronto is the favourite. Patrick Kane
Washington 49 - 22 - 11 Key players:Alex Ovechkin LW - 48g/44a/92ptsEvgeny Kuznetsov C - 40g/46a/86ptsAlex Burakovsky LW - 31g/54a/85pts Shea Theodore - 4g/43a/47pts Braden Holtby G vs Columbus 42 - 26 - 14 Key players:Brandon Saad LW - 35g/50a/85ptsRyan Strome RW - 36g/51a/87ptsPierre Oliver MacInytre - 39g/32a/71pts Miika Eronen - 7g/33a/40pts Sergei Bobrovsky G Columbus has reached the playoffs after several years of disappointment. Lead by a duo of rookies on the second line - DeBrincat and MacInytre and Pierre-Luc Dubois. Saad, Strome, Eronen, Jones, Maatta have been reliable players over the years, and are finally ready for some playoff hockey. Unfortunately for them, Washington has never lost in the first round, and have made two Stanley Cup experiences. Braden Holtby is one of the best, Ovechkin is the best playoff producer in RGMG history, and they have an amazing D-core with Theodore, Koekkoek, Carlson. That being said, they are no longer a 'powerhouse' as they use to be, but still a strong team. Columbus will need to dig deep to get past the Caps. AntonRodin
Disappointing season for the New Jersey Devils, we had hopes we could make a push for the playoffs but it just wasn't meant to be. We might of made the playoffs if we just ran with Blackwood for all 82 games. There's always next season for us to build on what we've accomplished this season. New Jersey Devils Team Awards: Most Valuable Devil: Claude Giroux New Jersey Devils Players "Player" Award: Claude Giroux Hugh Delano Unsung Hero: Zachary Hayes Best Defenceman: Damon Severson Good luck to everyone who made the playoffs! Patrick Kane
Las Vegas 53-19-10 Key players:Dylan Strome C - 24g/57a/81ptsNail Yakupov RW - 37g/39a/76ptsNathan MacKinnon RW - 39g/36a/75pts Oliver Ekman-Larsson D - 4g/40a/44pts Ilya Samsonov G vs Vancouver 39-36-7 Key players:Brock Boeser RW - 18g/50a/68ptsVratislav Bilek C - 32g/32a/64ptsJake Virtanen RW - 33g/29a/62pts Olli Juolevi D - 1g/33a/34pts Thatcher Demko G Las Vegas has had a dominant season, leading the West with 116 points, led by their young, impressive core of forwards in Patrick, Domi, MacKinnon, Strome, Yakupov, their elite Swedish trio in OEL, Larsson, Klebom and young russian netminder Ilya Samsonov. Vancouver barely squeaked into the playoffs, and are one of the lowest scoring teams in the league, entering the playoffs with a negative goal differential in the regular season. Thatcher Demko must stand on his head for them to have a chance, otherwise Las Vegas will take this easily.
Patrick Kane
Chicago 49-25-8 Key players:Artemi Panarin LW - 45g/63a/108ptsSteven Stamkos C - 38g/59/97ptsCorey Perry RW - 23g/51a/74pts Kris Letang D - 4g/32a/36pts Jonathan Quick G vs Edmonton 40-36-6 Key players:Milan Lucic - 21g/44a/65ptsConnor McDavid - 43g/49a/92ptsJesse Puljujarvi - 42g/51a/93pts Gaelen Love - 5g/37a/42pts Cory Schneider G Lots of firepower in this series, with Art Ross winner Artemi Panarin, Steven Stamkos, Connor McDavid and Jesse Puljujarvi. Backstopped by two American goaltenders - Jonathan Quick and Cory Schneider. Chicago has impressive forward depth this year, with two 50pt 3rd liners, and two 40pt 4th liners, but offense from the backend hasn't been great. Edmonton has been struggling most of the year, but clawed into a playoff spot, and are a very underrated team. Series could go either way.
Patrick Kane
Colorado 49-28-5 Key players:Matt Duchene C - 30g/53a/83ptsMikko Rantanen RW - 30g/35a/65ptsChristian Dvorak LW - 27g/37a/64pts Erik Karlsson D - 5g/33a/38pts Brandon Halverson G vs Nashville 48-27-7 Key players:James Neal RW - 38g/43a/81ptsRyan Johansen C - 34g/47a/81ptsFilip Forsberg LW - 38g/39a/77pts Roman Josi D - 1g/44a/45pts Juuse Saros G Strange to see these two teams with similar records, Nashville has superior goaltending, defense, and offensive depth. Colorado has performed very well, and have made back to back playoff appearances, this time going into the series with Brandon Halverson as starter. Colorado has some gems in their bottom 6 that could break out and be the deciding factor of the series, but Nashville is always a threat in the playoffs, as they have 4 great lines they can roll. Could be a tight series, or heavily in favour of Nashville.
Patrick Kane
Anaheim 46-28-8 Key players:Noah Nash C - 27g/43a/70ptsAndreas Athanasiou LW - 31g/34a/65ptsOndrej Palat LW - 16g/44a/60pts Ryan Ellis D - 4g/38a/42pts Harri Sateri G vs Los Angeles 39-27-16 Key players:Evander Kane LW - 27g/52a/79ptsForbes Howard RW - 31g/38a/69ptsAnze Kopitar C - 25g/41a/66pts Drew Doughty D - 5g/37a/42pts Andrei Vasilevskiy G Potentially a tight series between these two. Many did not expect Anaheim to do so good this year, and Los Angeles has made some huge tweaks to get back into the post season. Los Angeles has more veteran depth, and game breakers on their roster. Anaheim will need to hope their depth continues to chip in with points, and Kyllian Scheidt kicks it into a new level for them to be able to beat the Kings. Mr.Miyagi
San Jose is putting this out there; If we gain a top 3 pick, San Jose is willing to package Tomas Hertl, 2023 1st, 2022 2nd, 2022 3rd, Prospect... In order to draft both twins. This is unlikely but not impossible. If we are out of the running, San Jose will look to deal our 1st this year, Our 1st next year, and a few Dmen, for some quality upgrades on the Defense. We we finished strong and we are a team to watch! With many young, and promising Forwards, and a promising young goalie, We note our D is our weakness. We will look to make a big splash or 2 this offseason!
