THANK YOU ERIK!!!

20140415__140416_walters_johnson.jpg

Games Played: 814

Goals: 66

Assists: 295

Points: 361

Glad to bring Erik Johnson on board.

He's a physical defenseman, who plays great in his own end. We don't expect him to produce offense, even though he is capable. Just lay the body and play rock solid defense.

We are extremely pleased with our defensive depth - going a different approach this season. Taking a hit offensively, but getting stronger defensively.

Kris Letang - #1

Hampus Lindholm - #1/2

Zach Werenski - #2/3

Erik Johnson - #3

Madison Bowey - #3

FIRST WAVE OFFERS WILL CLOSE FRIDAY MORNING AT 10:00 AM.

PLEASE DO NOT OFFER FOR PLAYERS YOU WILL NOT PLAY IN THE NHL.

Do not offer players who will not play in the NHL unless you are PK and you sign Dan Stanlund, the top goalie prospect last year in FA who signed in the first wave and played the whole year in the AHL

I'm going to address this only because the non-KIK GM's are probably confused.

Exhibit A:

3Jfx5YZ.png

Bio explicitly states that Stenlund will need 1+ more years in the AHL.

Exhibit B:

Nail: "Got around 15 offers for Stenlund lel" (something around those lines)

So ~14 other teams were signing Stenlund, a 8.0F goaltender who needs 1+ years in the AHL - as their backup?

Exhibit C:

In my offer I stated that Stenlund will be groomed in the AHL for 1-2 years and eventually backup Quick, and take over as starter. Why didn't my offer get rejected right then and there?

Conclusion:

To all non GM's of KIK, please ignore DC's trolling here what Nail means by 'AHL offers'.

A guy like Brendan Gaunce is a NHL calibre player, but some teams (like Florida, Dallas, Toronto and myself) like to have some vets in the farm team, to support the few quality prospects they have.

Nail doesn't want people signing NHL calibre guys in wave 1 right away to bury into the AHL. He wants to give them two chances (waves) to land a spot on a NHL team.

In Dan Stenlund's case, he was specifically stated on the UFA form to need to be in the AHL for 1+ years. There were other prospects like this (Gabe Coughlin, Lukas Janecek).

Now it may have confused some on whether or not to offer him a contract in the first wave or the second. But it didn't stop ~15 teams for offering.

Hopefully this will clarify the rule, and the non-KIK GMs understand what's going on here.

Stenlund isnt as big of an issue because of all the teams who offered and the clarity of his development, but what about the Fabian Zetterlund contract? Not posted anywhere in the thread, but @Patrick Kane gives him a 2 year deal at $1,000,000 for a guy who's a consistent .5pp/g player? Besides the questionable cheap price, the bigger issue to me is that it went completely unnannounced and not decided by one of the other agents

Shady Things PK has done- The Official List

1) Run 2 teams at once (Chicago and Ottawa)

2) Make questionable trades (Perry for scrubs) among others

3) Sign his own RFAs

4) Raise the cap when his players need larger contracts

5) Make bad contracts "disappear" by force retiring

6) Forces people to make trades in his favour because "they owe him"

7) Trades UFA rights of his players for assets, then the following year when he has no UFA rights to change, changes the rules

8) Signs AHL players in wave 1
