MVP - Mark Carvel

Special teams saviour. Logged the most minutes out of any forward, while maintaining an impressive +31. 30 goals ain't bad either.

Leading Scorer - Andre Burakovsky (94)

An impressive season to say the least. Finished tied for 6th among scoring leaders league wide, and 7th in shots. Lead the team with a massive +42.

Most Goals - Andre Burakovsky (44)

Finished 8th in goals league wide.

Top Defenseman - Kevin Shattenkirk

Age isn't slowing him down, among the top 10 in time on ice. Finished with a respectable 37 points, and lead the team in blocked shots.

Best Rookie - Jett Peddie

Expectations were high coming into this season, immediately playing in the top-6. Struggling at the beginning of the season, Jett flourished in the second half, understandably after being moved to the wing. 17 goals, 38 assists in his rookie year shows he has potential to become a exceptional playmaker.

Unsung Hero - Zech Mudd

The team called upon him to be the shutdown player we needed after the departure of Jens Svensson. And he did not disappoint. Highest +/- among defensemen. He also managed to score 5 goals. Nice one, Zech.

Most Exciting - Andre Burakovsky

Let's hope he carries this momentum into next season...

@Zfetch It looks like this game gave you last place while stopping me from winning the President's Trophy

------

Good season for my team with 61 wins and 124 points. Getting 117 points 2 years ago and 118 points last year wasn't enough to get me past the first round, so hopefully things are different this time

Unfortunately, I'm facing a 121 point team in Dallas so my odds of winning aren't really that high. I think it's safe to say you'll never see 2 first round opponents combine for 245 points ever again.

Nashville Team Awards

Most Valuable Player: Carey Price - First time I'm not giving this to a forward. Price tied for 2nd in the league with a .925 save percentage.

Most Exciting Player: Gustav Nyquist - 30 goals and 81 points, leading the team in scoring

Best Defenseman: Roman Josi - 36 points which is 12 away from Fowler's team-leading 48, but he wasn't on the first PP unit and finished with an insane +58 rating.

Unsung Hero: Jens Svensson - Played a big part in improving my team's penalty killing in his limited time here and seems to be a good fit on the 2nd pairing

NY Rangers Season Review

133b9ab458aa74df815b79f80d05d183_imagejp

This season just plain sucked for the NY Rangers, and no we knew for a fact that we wont be making the playoffs, but we were definitley not expecting to finish 15th in the east! We just plain sucked this whole year, so this off season, we are going to be cleaning house once the playoffs are over. We need to steer this ship on the right path again. We fully expect to make some moves this season and making the right moves which will benefit this team long term. Next year, is a brand new season and this team will be looking different once the season begins and hopefully making the playoffs. But, we must focus on the off season and make a plan going forward now.

NY Rangers Player awards:

MVP - Nicholas Leahy

Leading Scorer - Nicholas Leahy (56)

Most Goals - Nicholas Leahy (28)

Top Defenseman - Ryan Murphy (30 Points)

Unsung Hero - Nicholas Leahy

Most Exciting - Nicholas Leahy

On to the next topic, here are the players are going to be OTB this off season:

Mika Zibanejad - Willing to trade for a top pairing defencemen

Nino Niederreiter - (Will retain 80)- Trade for a prospect

Kasperi Kapanen- (Will Retain 80)- Trade for a Defensive forward

Ryan Murphy - Cheap contract can score 30 + pts a year - looking for defencemen Prospect

Ville Pokka - Can go for pick or a prospect

Players that will be untouchable are:

Sam Bennett

Nicholas Leahy

Damon Severson

Colton Parayko

Ryan Merkley

Fedor Kuznetsov

Good luck to all teams in the playoffs, hopefully we can dance with you all next season!

Shark Tank

Despite missing the playoffs by 3 points, it has been an inspiring season in the bay area. Once a fixture in the Western conference's basement, San Jose climbed to 9th place thanks to team-wide improvements and contributions from exuberant young players. A brief rundown on the players that stood out most to GM Armbar:

Andrey Aleko:

The team's MVP and true franchise player. Aleko posted his best ever season, posting a 0.925 SV%, good for 2nd in the league behind only Thatcher Demko. He also posted 4 shutouts and 42 wins on a non-playoff team. Perhaps most impressively, Aleko was tied for most shots face in the league and still put a season worthy of Vezina consideration. Excellent work from Andrey once again.

Tomas Mantyla:

While not the heights of what Mantyla is capable of, 57 points is a respectable total and a vast improvement over last season's disappointment. Tomas was especially hot in the second half of the season, when complimentary specialist Brett Seney was moved on to his opposite wing. Mantyla also endured the trade of his longtime linemate Patrick Khodorenko, but still produced admirably with Isac Lundestrom stepping up in the pivot. The hope is that Tomas will continue to improve next season, although it remains to be seen if the Sharks will need to bring in some outside talent to play with him and unlock his potential.

Marko Hadwig:

It took a few years, but the Austrian Drew Doughty finally burst on to the scene this season. Hadwig posted 51 points, good for T-3rd in scoring among defencemen. Marko also ran the PP and was a key penalty killer. His partnership with Madison Bowey continued to impress, providing a much-appreciated shield to Aleko. Hadwig will be a #1D for the Sharks for at least the next decade, a stable piece that any contending franchise needs.

Dmi3:

A second line formed mostly as a a hopeful experiment, the line of Moiseyev, Sokolov, and Makeyev quickly transformed a stagnant Sharks attack. Sokolov was his usual reliable self, a perfect 2C posting 57 points and even playing on the PK. Makeyev put in another solid effort with 50 points and a positive +/-. However, the most exciting member of the line was easily Moiseyev. The somewhat unheralded rookie was given the call after a solid AHL campaign and did not disappoint. He led the team in points (67) and goals (40), establishing himself as a real scoring threat. He may not win it, but Moiseyev turned a lot of heads this year and surely deserves to be considered for the Calder trophy.

Conclusion

The beginning of the end of San Jose's futility? GM Armbar is confident of further improvements, but will need to assess the team after what will be a very busy re-signing period for the team. No matter what happens in free agency, help will be arriving next year in the form of highly touted prospects Kim Putkonen (9.0D) and Ilya Platonov (8.5B), who could both be given shots in key roles right off the bat. Hope is abound in San Jose for possibly the first time in RGMG history.

Motha&^@#in Montreal Canadiens Awards

MVP: Braken Moir (32G, 45A, 77P, +7)

The player with the highest plus/minus on a team that had only four positive plus/minus players, Braken Moir takes home the MVP award, which is famous in Montreal for going to Max Pacioretty. Moir was 2nd in points on Montreal, only 2 behind point leader Josheau Fontaine.

Points and Goals: Josheau Fontaine (34G, 45A, 79P)

Josheau Fontaine has become a huge core piece on the Canadiens, and this season brings home both the goals and points awards. Fontaine's 34 goals were the highest on the squad, and his 79 points gave him the lead over Braken Moir in points. We look ahead to the future and hope that Josheau and keep that up.

Best Defenseman: Mikhail Sergachev (3G, 42A, 45P)

Sergachev once again was the Canadiens best defenseman, and actually, the only one in Montreal with a positive in the plus/minus column.

Unsung Hero: Griffin Reinhart (45GP, 1G, 17A, 18P) // Grigori Denisenko (18G, 45A, 63P)

Both Reinhart and Denisenko share this award this season. Reinhart's 0 in the plus/minus column with great depth defense, and Denisenko's positive plus/minus with an added 63 points make these two players the best choices to tie for this award. Reinhart played 45 games of the season, and in the final stretch at the second half found a home on the blue line, being a consistent stay at home guy. Grigori Denisenko was one of only 3 forwards with a positive plus/minus season, and his great playmaking abilities make him deserve this award.

Conclusion:

Just last season, the Canadiens made the playoffs for the first time in a long time, but now for whatever reason plummeted back down to the bottom. Montreal, with almost the exact same roster, just could not get their feet going. High scoring games where they win, and then getting scored against too many times in losses are what were their downfall. Goaltenders Juuse Saros and Federik Kavanagh split the season in net, and neither could find a groove. Both of them ended with save percentages under 90%, and both with goals against averages of over 3.70. In fact, Kavanagh's was 4.08, somewhat being thrown to the wolves as a rookie goalie. Montreal's highly offensive team is just too much for these goaltenders to handle. They can only hope to possibly win a lottery pick and select one of two highly coveted goaltenders in this season's draft.

On to the next one.

Big shoutout to N Shore for going 41 games without a point!....

You go from good season to tank every other season. If you are going to tank then fine. Stop acting like you're upset about it and leave me out of it. Some of us give a sh!t about this league.

Florida Panthers Team Awards

MVP: Alexander Barkov 28G 33A 61P

Top Goal Scorer: Jonathan Huberdeau 30G

Top Playmaker: Anthony Mantha and Aaron Ekblad 34A

Top Defenseman: Aaron Ekblad 4G 34A 38P

Fan Favourite: Yegor Korshkov

Top Rookie: Bengt Thelin

This season was full of more downs then anything. After coming close to making the playoffs just a season ago, we came back with the same team in hope they could gel more and make a stronger run. Unfortunately things did not go that way for us. We ended up trading Starter Andersen, Niederreiter, Wennberg, Bjørkstrand in the end as we knew we were falling behind. However at the trade deadline we brought in some great pieces that We can build around and hopefully come back stronger next season. We will be starting the year with a pretty green team, but we hope the mix of veteran players as well as the youth who have been playing for a couple years can help those that will be developing here next year. Not all hope is lost, especially with a guy like Matt Murray guarding the cage

Keys to Chicago-Las Vegas series:

Top line match up

Domi - Patrick - MacKinnon was a dominant line for the Aces. They combined for 224 points and +148. Hall had a down year by his standards, and Toews is no longer the offensive phenom he use to be. 37 year old James Neal had a revival in Chicago with 23pts in 33gp - but ultimately this top line is older and less productive than the Las Vegas Ace's top trio.

Bottom 6

Chicago has a 3rd line that has been fire down the stretch with Schmaltz-Hayes-Hertl. Their 4th line was also revamped with Aikas, Tierney, Reiman. Vegas has some older bodies in the bottom 6 in Sutter, Malkin, Zuccarello, but also have some youth in Crouse, Wood. The concern for Vegas is that everyone in their bottom 6 was a minus.

Offense from the backend

Both teams have offensive defenseman who can produce, but Vegas defenders have been more consistent, especially this year with 182 points from their defenders, compared to Chicago's 153. Vegas scored 17 more goals than Chicago this season, and a large part of that is due to their defenders jumping in on the rush.

The GM of Chicago has let the hockey world know his star defensemen Kris Letang is available as the 2025 playoffs are set to begin. There has been lots of speculation throughout the season as Chicago had shipped out veterans Logan Couture, Jordan Eberle, and Adam Henrique in an attempt to rebuild on the fly. When asking the GM of Chicago why he made the announcement public that his veteran defensemen is available, he replied "its just part of business."

We are now reporting live from the locker room in United Airlines where the Blackhawks have just finished their practice before game 1.

Reporter: "Hey Kris, what are your thoughts on your GM letting everyone know your time in Chicago is up and that you're about to be shipped out once the playoffs are over."

Letang: "I mean, I guess it's just part of business but its classless and disheartening. As a veteran in the league, you would think you would be treated with more class. But its nothing new with GMPK here where once you're old and useless to him, he discards you. Theres no loyalty in Chicago."

Reporter: "How do you prepare for the upcoming playoffs knowing that you're time is up."

Letang "I'm sitting out the playoffs. I'd rather collect the paycheck then play for a ruthless GM."

Reporter: "Hey Jonathan, as the captain of this franchise, what are your thoughts on Letang sitting out the playoffs."

Jonathan: "I'm not surprised. I would do the same. GMPK has shipped out my buddies time in and time out. I'm grateful for the loyalty he's shown me but I wish he showed more class. If Letangs gone next season, I'm gone as well."
