canucklax
Detroit season review: MVP: Clary Syvret- 51 points from the blueline helped activate our forwards, along with a ridiculous +47 rating when 2nd best on the team was +23. He is the cornerstone defender that we hoped for when we acquired him from Los Angeles. Top Forward: Dylan Larkin- 71 points including 34 goals split between 1st and 2nd line duty, he has been a consistent force for us and is a fan favorite playing at home. Breakout Player: Robert McDonald- was one of the league wide scoring leaders in the beginning of the year playing alongside Beau Bennett and Nick Bjugstad. He came back to earth in the 2nd half of the year, he more than doubled his previous career high with 50 points in a secondary role. Unsung hero: Jared McIsaac- McIsaac quietly had 30 points in bottom 4 time along with sparce special team play along with 121 blocked shots and 201 hits. Look to the future: Isaiag Thibodeau- The 4th overall pick of the 2021 draft made his highly anticipated debut after the trade deadline. A solid .911 save percentage in the regular season gave him a taste of success at the highest level, while struggling in the playoffs should motivate him to work in the offseason. Sebastien Kaval- The 7th overall pick in 2023, Sebastien came over from New Jersey in the John Gibson trade, and looks to be a dominant force down the middle. He is hungry and will challenge Leon Draisaitl for the number 1 center spot. Vaclav Polodna- Due to defensive depth issues, Vaclav was pressed into service as an 18 year old, and managed his 17 minutes a night well. 22 points and 96 blocked shots as a bottom pairing defender is a great start to the young Czech's career. _________________________________ Offseason work begins now: Tyler Toffoli and Robert McDonald OTB. Will also listen to offers on middle 6 forward Frans Bratt, Joel Eriksson-Ek, and Luke Kunin. Looking for a defender to compliment the top 3 of Syvret-Matheson-McDonagh. Along with the forwards mentioned above, picks and prospects can be added to deals
