Review:

All I can say is Wow. I'm still in disbelief over the run that my team had in the 2nd half in the season and playoffs. From no playoff series wins to a Stanley Cup is quite a jump. I'd like to thank @Patrick Kane, @Nail, the trade trackers and draft coordinators for all their hard work in putting together the SIM league I have taken part of. Without them, my victory and others would not have been possible. Also want to congratulate @Tigs, TRR (I forgot your new CDC name), @JE14, and Nail on reaching the playoffs and putting together great teams that will be back in the playoff race.

As for my team, it was either this year or wait several years. With a cap crunch looming, we decided to spend some of our future assets for some battle tested veterans in Braden Holtby, Anze Kopitar, and Jakob Silfverberg. All delivered and were key reasons why we won this year. Though we may lose some players from our current roster, the core of this team is young and bright, with players like Laprise, Holmqvist, Zetterqvist Twins, and Periard all 24 and under. We will be looking to sell some of our veterans this upcoming offseason and let them have another chance at a cup, but we expect to be back in the thick of things next year and following years as well.

Team Awards:

MVP: Braden Holtby: 55W-11L-4OT, GAA: 2.22, SV% .923

Easily the best player and key contributor to our turnaround. Braden had one of his best seasons to date. We expect to see his name in conversation for the Conn Smythe and Vezina.

Top Forward: Mikael Granlund: 32G-45A-77PTS +/-46

2nd on the team in points, the captain was our all purpose forward and delivered in clutch situations when called upon. Mikael's production was his highest output since the 19-20 season, and the Finnish center was instrumental in the surge of production from his linemates

Top Goalscorer: Pierre-Herve Laprise: 46G-42A-86PTS +/-40

The Swedes may get all the attention for their pedigree, but it is actually the young Canadian winger that has emerged as the star for our club. Pierre not only produced at a PPG clip in the regular season, but also in the playoffs. Going forward, GM BJ's intentions are to lock up his star winger long term.

Top Defensemen: Justin Faulk: 4G-43A-47PTS +/-38

Another fantastic season from Justin, as he led our D corp once again in scoring while playing in all situations. Given his production, pedigree, and talent, Justin has one of the best contracts in the entire league.

Unsung Hero: Anze Kopitar: 18G-44A-62PTS +/-39

Perhaps the best deadline acquisition that our club has made. Anze gave us 3 scoring lines and provided fantastic defense along the way. His 19pts in 24 playoff games was crucial to our postseason success.

Top Rookie: Timo Heiskanen: 58 games, 13G-12A-25PTS +/-8

Though the odds were not in his favor, Timo overcame all doubts surrounding him and not only made the NHL, but contributed to our club.

Moving forward, Minnesota will be looking to sell some veterans. Anyone over 30 except Holtby and Faulk may be available.

Probably should also add for the non kik GMs (cuz the kik ones already know), but that includes Chris Kreider and Drew Doughty.

Would want a younger Top 9 winger + 1st round pick/8.0 prospect for Kreider. ELITE Penalty Killer and consistent Top 6 forward who is reliable in his own zone. Can retain and on a 1st come-1st serve basis.

The package would be more substantial for Doughty, specifically would have to involve a younger Dmen coming back with high potential and collection of 1st round picks/prospects. Probably won't move him right away until after the RFA period, but would inquire now because others already have.

Consistent 70 point winger Evander Kane is available. Only 5.8M retain-able contract. Has featured in the top 10 LWs a few times. Kyle Turris and Brayden Schenn are also available. Message me with offers. Mainly looking for youth.

New goalie signing guidelines, as per discussed and created by the BoG.

Factor 1: Pedigree (prospect grade, or player reputation)

Factor 2: Consistency (5 decent years > 1 random good year)

Factor 3: Age (26-34 seems to be the sweet spot for goalies prime)

Factor 4: Sv%

.900 or below = .650M - 1M

.901-.904  = 1M - 2.5M

.905 - .908 = 2.6M - 4.5M

.909 - .917 = 4.6M - 6.5M

.918+  = 6.6M - 8.5M
