So let me get this straight.  Someone enlighten me please. Since TML picked up Griffith, they now go to the bottom of the waiver list and we are now 2nd behind Edmonton?

No this is a myth. You don't go to the bottom of the waiver list no matter how many players you claim.

I think (not sure) that the Condon claim by Pitt screws MTL out of an expansion eligible goalie. We'll see more of this in the coming season.

I thought there wasn't any games played (in the NHL) rule for goalies. Do you know what the requirement is?

Actually kinda surprised we didn't pick anyone up.  I'm not convinced we have either enough scoring for this season, nor enough potential top-six talent for the future.

Benning might have put in a claim for Griffith as he is familiar with the player from his Bruin days.

I was hoping Benning would have sent Etem down to try out Pulkkinen off waivers, seems like a lot more upside there but with no waiver pickups it makes me think JB has a solid idea what he wants out of this year. Not going to be a lot of experimentation apparently.

The Canes have picked up Martin Frk, Dahlback, and Nakladal for free in the last few days. Talk about dumpster diving.

That said, if just one turns into a player for them, it would be a steal.

Does that mean they have to keep all of those guys on the big club for the season?  I didn't think you can pick up a player off waivers and then waive them again.

You can waive them again, but the team who first waived them has first priority.

In the context of calling them a 'player' I was referring to having a contribution to the Canes, of being a threat to score or having a significant role in the lineup. Not many waiver claims do that.
