The end of General Fanager

I was directed towards CapFirendly yesterday, and to be honest, it might actually be better. It doesn't have the simple navigation and great layout that General Fanager has though.

Really happy that all the hard work Tom did has paid off. Such a useful website for fans.

Surprised NHL.com hasn't made their own Tool or even bought CapGeek/GeneralFanager. I haven't gone to NHL.com more than a couple times since they updated the site. And every time I forget they changed the site, and just leave right away.

Tom did a great job with General Fanager.  Strange though.... I exchanged emails with him about a month ago and he had just sold the company to the Nations Network  (Canucks Army, Flames Nation, Oilers Nation, etc) and was going to be working with them.   Now that he has shut down the web site and is going to work for Vegas,  I wonder if the Nations Network is going to do something with the database, etc or if they will just let it disappear?

For those of you that are not aware of it, I run  NHLarmchairGm.com and use pretty much the same contract info etc that Cap Friendly and General Fanager use.  My site just presents the info in a much different way.  If you like to play with the team line-ups, explore trade options, etc give it a try.

Good looking site...well done sir!

It was a useful site,  however if there's a need - and more importantly a buck to be made - there's always going to be someone ready and willing to fill the void.  Competition off the ice is as strong as it is on the ice in some ways.

Good that he's dead, but what about poor me?

Narcissist much? :(

Read much?  Its a story about General Fanager. He's not dead, just gone to Vegas. Sure sometimes its hard to tell the difference after a weekend there. Maybe read the post before hurling insults friend.

3 of the 4 previous posts-including the one directly above your 'good for him' post were reffering to Capgeek guy passing away- do try to keep up.

PS I'm not your friend.

Not anymore.

PS the classy move is to admit a mistake and move on.
