Art Vandelay
They have little plastic ear covers for Minor hockey helmets. I wonder why they take them off in the NHL. I don't think it would help hearing?

Kragar
Friends, Romans, countrymen... Ouch. I'm one of many who have had some nasty pinches or cuts from things like that, but to actually cut a piece off. Bummer!

Quinn12
Guys got guts goin' down to block a shot like that out of position. Early regular season game, playing like he is in playoffs, true player right there.

There is that as well, but some don't like it because they think it interferes with their vision. Think Mats Sundin for instance. More players are smarter now that they need to protect their eyes regardless if they're a fighter or not so it's become normal. As for the ear protectors, I think Crosby keeps his on rather than remove them. Not sure who else does. I know they'd probably touch your ear lobes (I seem to remember that on my own helmets) so maybe that's the equivalent of the vision issue.
