Sedins no longer statistically twins

Going over the roster, noticed Daniel has put on significant pounds over Henrik.

Both of them usually weigh within a pound or two of each other, but this year the difference is 7 pounds.

Wonder if they decided on a different conditioning program?  Or maybe Henrik wasn't able to push as hard because of recovering from the back injury?

I do notice Daniel seems a bit quicker this year.  Hoping Henrik can stand up to the punishment he is going to get.  Hasn't hurt his goalscoring yet.  :)

Noticed also that Hutton has definitely put on muscle... up to 207, a decent weight for a defenseman, last year he was a little light.

And Virtanen also seems to have put on more weight, probably just maturing although no doubt conditioning played a part.

Wondering about Tryamkin at 265... seems a really big gain but maybe its the N American conditioning systems?

Hutton has put on 25

Benning was asked about Tryamkin.  He said that he is about the same weight as he was last year.  Puzzling, since he was listed at 228.

So you gonna make these types of threads after every single game for the whole season?

He goes in spurts. He'll disappear again after he gets tired.

But the Sedins have been on pace in a number of categories but have also had differences considering in the very least Daniel has been injured more often. Maybe that'll even out with Henrik having a few more recently, but Daniel being 7lbs heavier isn't anything to write home about. Could be the meals he's eating at home, a little more focus on certain areas in the weight room, or perhaps he's found a new favourite beer.

They may be twins, but they're also individuals. We didn't need a thread to tell us that.

I thought they had him at 248 last year? His frame at 228 would be a bean pole

It's hard to find historical weights on line.  HF has him listed at 230.  They're pretty slow to update.  http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospects/nikita-tryamkin/

Crazy. I coulda sworn he was 248, but maybe that's just my brain saying, he should be at least 250 given his height.

Stupid brain, pffft, always forgetting stuff and stuff.... and things.

230 is just too light for a dude so tall. Says the brain....

I thought this was going to be about their scoring statistics.  Oh well, here it is anyway:

Henrik   GP  1172, G 225, A 750, Pts  975

Daniel  GP  1149, G  257, A 589, Pts  946

Henrik has 29 more pts but has played 23 more games than Daniel.  So over a 16 year career, it is amazing how 'identical' statistically the twins are!

Would've been cool if they were both able to hit 1000 pts on the same play. That doesn't happen every week :^)

A few people had their bosses yelling at them again I see.  ;)

Tryamkin was listed at 228 lbs last year... unless that figure is wrong, he has put on 35 + pounds.  Not that he weighs too much, but 265 is a lot of weight to move in a game which depends on acceleration and speed.  Hutton was listed at 183 lbs last year if I remember correctly so that is a 21 lb gain.

Sedins have been listed at within a pound or two of each other for a decade.  Last year they were both around 187 lbs.  Now Henrik is down at 183 and Daniel is at 190.  That tells me something is going on... either conditioning wise, or perhaps as I said, Henrik took some time to recover from his back injury.  (remember the back injury???)

Some people don't catch the details which tell the story.

It's realistic to expect them both to hit 1000 this season ... but 'on the same play', not so much, LOL.

Wow, for sure they must be unique in NHL history.  Two brothers hitting 1000 in the same year (if at all)?

Tryamkin at 265 isn't heavy at all. He's 6'7, 265.

Horvat 6'0, 220.

The 10lbs per inch rule comes into play - if Tram had the same build as Bo, he'd be 290.

6'7, 265 = 6'0, 195. Not so fat eh

Um how is there a 10lbs per inch rule? That would mean Horvat would need to be 720lbs and Tryamkin would need to be 790lbs. I don't think that's a rule at all or your math is way off.

more like a 3ish lbs per inch rule.

BoHo at 72 inches at 220lbs = 3.05 lbs/inch

Tram at 79 inches at 265lbs = 3.35 lbs/inch.

I think your rule is applicable to waistline inches not height inches.

Haha. Ya, I get the raw math, I posed the same question/ response to my football coach as a teenager and his "crazy coach math" made sense, hadn't thought about it since though. It might be more related to football and ideal mass for grown men, but to summarize.

He told me my ideal weight was 205-210, I'm 6'1. He wanted a friend of mine to bulk to 230, he's 6'3. The coach was insistent that as a full grown athlete you should expect a 10lb difference in weight for every inch taller a guy is than you, helps you guage how to approach the tackle.

In my experience, it's pretty accurate. My Brother in law and I have a very similar physique, except he's 6'6, weighs 240lbs, 45lbs more than me. Weird eh..
