(Proposal) Miller to the Leafs

Recommended Posts

Not sure if anyone heard it but Babcock was angry about the goaltending in Toronto. Andersen and Enrith are not the stable pair they require. Maybe a deal of Miller to T.O. could net an exposable goalie and get us a nice prospect and/or pick and give them a a stable goalie. Fleury is also a candidate.

We already have an exposable veteran G under contract. I doubt very highly that JB moves Miller to the Leafs, or anywhere else, this early in the season. Unless, of course, someone overpays, and they won't, because why would they?

Leafs are in the same situation Edmonton is in, they need defenceman to help their goalies.

Edmonton is doing well though.  The Leafs can't keep the puck out of their net.  Would Babcock want Tanev?

Agree whole heartedly.  This point is often overlooked even by certain GM's.  A lousy defense can make a good goalie look ordinary or even poor.

Not for the Canucks it doesn't

Really?

The Leafs have literally nothing for a right handed, right side defenceman.  Tanev played for that Gold medal WHC team, where Babcock was like a GM.  Tanev was awesome partnered with Reilly.  What the return would be - who knows really.  But Tanev makes more sense than Miller, no?

Don't think JB would be comfortable with a Markstrom/Enroth pairing moving forward (assuming Enroth comes back in a trade). Miller is a good goalie and the Canucks need him this year. Markstrom will be the starter next season. At least I think that's their plan.

What I do like though, is the Canucks would get something back for Miller before he walks after the season. Hmm, Enroth (28) and Markstrom (26) for the next 2 years, then enter Demko to back up Markstrom. Maybe if TOR threw in a 2nd :)

That's the most important part of the equation from our viewpoint. That, and even though our D corps has been re-vamped it is yet to prove that we can we can remove a vet for another piece without losing more than we win.

So again, no. It makes no sense.

The Leafs would like him sure but why on earth would the Canucks screw themselves?  Ok, Tanev for Matthews
