What... aren't they over the cap? This is BS.

They should be relegated to the AHL. I hate them.

They put Depres and Thompson on LTIR. Because of that, they are actually under the cap (until these 2 come back). Though there is a good chance both are out for the year.

Here is a correction from Bob McKenzie

Lindholm's actual AAV this season is $5.73M and $5.20M in each of the remaining five seasons. Even tho it's publicly reported as $5.25M AAV.

The variance is as a result of signing after the regular season had commenced, per CBA.

That's a phenomenal deal. Hopefully this can keep Gudbranson's next contract lower as well.

Bennings gonna overpay Gudbranson,  major reason why Florida traded away Gudbranson is because they didnt want to pay him long term. Gud's contract is probably gonna be 5mil /5 years. For a player who scores like 4 goals a season, playing #3 defense, that's overpayment.

No. I think we are 1.4 mil over now. But if Thompson is placed on LTIR, I think it gets it done. Will be interesting though once him and Depres get healthy.

Is Fowler still not a player that could get dealt in the near future though ? my understanding is having both Theodore and Montour coming up in the picture makes Fowler a likely candidate to move on.

From the interviews that Hampus gave after signing, he alluded to taking less so that the D corp could keep intact. Basically Hampus accepted his deal because he thinks the Ducks are contenders with Fowler, him, and Vatanen all on the same team. My guess is that they do nothing now and see how the team does with Rakell and Lindholm back.

I would be shocked if Benning only pays 5 x 5 for Gud.

If Dorsett gets 2.6M Gudbranson will be around 27m x 15 yrs +\-

Ok, I clearly haven't been paying enough attention to Hampus.

10g 18a and 5.25 million?

.... what am I missing? Be gentle.

While his 28 season was his most recent campaign, he hit 30 in his rookie season and 34 the one sandwiching his first and most recent.. He's only 22 as a defenseman and has potential to hit much higher offensive numbers. If you've seen him play, he's a really smooth skating defenseman that can move the puck while being a cerebral player that plays well in his own end as well.
