While they likely need a goaltending upgrade, I don't think Nill wants to 15 million tied up in salary for three goalies.
cripplereh
this will be interesting to see where he goes as three teams need a goalie bad
Beary Sweet
Although the Isles have let the league know Halak is available, I don't think anyone will be willing to pay the price to notch a starter of his quality. Teams like LA, Yotes, and whoever the other team needing a goalie would go after their backup like Berube.
SabreFan1
He only fetched a 4th rounder the last time he was up on the block. This time he's the odd man out of 3 goaltenders. I would be surprised if he netted a healthy return for NYI.
iinatcc
How about Miller + Eriksson for Halak and a 2nd round pick?

Apple Juice
Greiss has proven to be a capable starter a very reliable backup. I think it would be a mistake to trade Halak away if they want any shot at the playoffs.
Outsiders
LA maybe or we realize we aren't gonna make the playoffs. Trade for Halak. Trade miller & marky becomes #
SabreFan1
Nobody wants to give anything up for Halák. http://nhl.nbcsports.com/2016/10/31/report-islanders-still-havent-received-any-offers-for-halak/
kloubek
I can see a team like LA trading for him if the price is right. He isn't outstanding, but would be a solid stop-gap for a team needing a temporary #1 goalie.
Warhippy
Where is @Monty right now? I wonder if there is a trade between the Jets and Islanders involving Trouba/Pavelec for Halak/Hamonic picks/prospects going across.

Hellebuyck has been solid so far, and Hutchinson has proven to be a capable enough backup (in the short term). I also believe the Jets' long term plan is for Comrie to be their #1. What are they going to do about Hellebuyck? I think its already certain they are going to keep Hellebuyck while leaving Hutchinson for expansion if they don't trade him before that. Considering Hellebuyck's pedigree and short term success in the NHL already, I can't imagine him being on board with that plan. Maybe a Gibson/Andersen situation with Comrie and Hellebuyck later down the road when Laine, Ehlers, the goalies, and Morrissey all need new contracts? Aren't their contracts within half a million barring a year of length? I am more thinking about dealing with the Trouba situation than I am about goaltending. Halak drops in, they deal with their 3 goalie issue but get Hamonic a Manitoba boy

Halak drops in, they deal with their 3 goalie issue but get Hamonic a Manitoba boy I don't think Garth Snow is on board with trading Hamonic anymore. He rescinded his trade request and is on an incredibly cap friendly contract. Also, the Jets would have the same problem, 3 RHD. But, we'll see what happens. I fall into the category of Jets fans (large amount) that would actually prefer to make Trouba sit for the year, rather than trade him and fulfill his trade request as an RFA who's trying to dictate where he plays and what side he plays on.
