captaincowbasher
I posted earlier that we need to consider trading the Twins, but I have a better idea- 3rd line is all their's. For the amount of playing time these two get, including PP time, it's time they get treated like everyone else on this team. The teams philosophy about if you deserve to be with the club then they will be with the club should also translate, if your performing you'll get the minutes. Well the best forwards for the team have consistently been Horvat, Hansen,Sutter and Granlund. So, the first 2 lines should be: Hansen Horvat Virtanen Baertschi Sutter Granlund Sedin Sedin Eriksson Skille Gaunce Burrows I moved Baertschi to play with Granlund, they look really good together. This is exactly what this team needs and then we will see exactly where the Sedins are mentally, no more PP time til they earn it, if they despise the roll then they could pick up their game like good leaders would or request a trade... DJSkingz
How has Virtanen performed well enough to get 1st line? Skille has done more than Virtanen, even Gaunce. At least they look like they are trying out there.
Oregon.Duck
Instead of trying to put a label on lines, how about just letting them play, gel, create some chemistry, and earn playing time. So I agree with you to a degree, but we need to get out of the EA Sports mindset of setting lines in a designated order. I do beg to differ with regards to the Sedin's. They still are our most talented players, albeit they're slowing down significantly. Benching our best players doesn't get anyone anywhere. Quote You're* welcome JB But eh, what do I know, as I always say, I'll never make a definitive point on how to run a sports team. These people are in their positions for a reason, they've earned it through years of hard work. Let's not belittle them by thinking we can do their jobs better. Dr. Crossbar
Well, there's known chemistry with ... Sedins-Eriksson Bear, Bo, Virtanen Go with what you know. At least juggling 6 is more manageable than scrambling to juggle all 12.

Also Baer-Horvat-Virtanen is not really a natural chemistry given their different style of play - Baer the odd man out. Maybe it's because of usage - they were used offensively but Baer looked more recognisable with Granlund as his C.

Bo's line tends to best off the rush. Tough to go on a rush starting in the offensive zone. The added bonus is if he loses the faceoff he's strong in his own end. Don't know if JV "deserves" better ice time just yet. But he played his first game of the season that I actually noticed good play from him. Positive Canuck
the Sedans are so slow and most teams can break up their predictable perimeter cycle , time to split them up , obviously keep them together on the PP ....and prepare to fire the coach. willing to try out J.Subban even if its on wing. Blender time. Baerschi-H.Sedin-Hansen Daniel-Sutter-Erikkson Virtanan-Horvat-J.Subban Granlund-Gaunce-Dorsett Edler-Stecher Tryamkin-Gudbranson (If Nikita can be the stud we all hope he is) Hutton-Tanev

No kidding. If the Sedins were really as bad as to warrant 3rd line deployment, then the other teams would have recognized it and adjusted their defensive coverage accordingly. But sure, move them to the 3rd then split up the other two lines that are building chemistry to make this team worse... Sedin Sedin Eriksson 13 points Granlund Sutter Hansen 12 points Baertschi Horvat Virtanen 7 points But yeah, let's reverse that order essentially. I'm sure that'll fix it. Man, this board after a loss just doesn't ever change. Everyone has an opinion on why we're bad, but no one has a good solution beyond what the team's already doing to fix it. Rant threads everywhere.

Somehow I doubt there's a single coach in the league that stupid.
