Noble 6
To EDM: Fowler To ANA: Nugent-Hopkins Reasons for Edmonton: The Oilers add a young, puck moving defensman on the left side in Fowler. Their D-core, which is their most glaring weakness, is greatly improved. Suddenly, Fowler and Larsson makes their defense respectable. All they need is some defensive help behind McDavid's scoring, and they are set up very well. This also lets them send down Nurse to the AHL for some further refinement in his decision making: Fowler - Larsson Klefbom - Russell Sekera - Gryba Reasons for Anaheim: The Ducks add some scoring punch and skill to their lineup for a hopeful playoff push this year. Their top-3 centers are Getzlaf, Nugent-Hopkins and Kesler. They trade Fowler to avoid losing him for nothing in expansion, while simultaneously creating room for Theodore to slot into the lineup. This improves their forward core now, and their defense in the future: Ritchie - Getzlaf - Perry Rakell - Nugent-Hopkins - Silfverberg Cogliano - Kesler - Wagner Garbutt - Vermett - Thompson Thoughts? Edit: This is assuming that Anaheim can get rid of Stoner or Bieksa to make room for Nugent-Hopkins.
Makaramel MacKhiato
It makes sense, but I don't see it as a reality since they're both in the same division
Blue Jay 22
Money wise, it doesn't work for Anaheim.

mll
Anaheim has an internal budget and they are way too close to the cap already. Also Rakell can play C so they don't necessarily need RNH. In the playoffs Boudreau went with Getzlaf, Rakell/Perry and Kesler on 3 different lines.

They will probably need some more firepower to make it through the the western conference if they want to go on a Cup run.

According to Eric Stephens - he is skating at C with Vermette and Wagner on his wings.

But a big part of the proposal is Anaheim getting assets back for one of their defensman, as opposed to losing him for nothing.
