Who can come in and cleanup this franchise?

It's a mess. We lack scoring and all summer we don't attempt to sign anybody with skill. No we bring in Ruutu, Sheppard and Skille and even sign Skille.

JB at least is average at drafting but is abysmal at team evaluation (how many times has he said this is a playoff team?) and trades. I almost shudder what trade he will do to benefit the next GM.

linden was a great captain in the day but how his days have got to be numbered how this team and interest level is being driven to the ground. Empty seats, dwindling fan interest.

Who can come in and rebuild this franchise? Dare I say Gillis as president and someone else as GM/Coach? Or Tallon? Someone new who is smart and savvy and understands how to rebuild (ex sell off aging vets at the deadline?). Is there anyone who can make a proper rebuild blueprint and stick to it? none of this make the playoffs when reality says the team even when healthy may not even hit 65 points at this pace

Maybe it's not JB's fault or TL's (or maybe it's their fault because they accepted their jobs?).  As long as the owners wanted to make the playoffs because they wanted to rake in some dough, the team will never have any chance to properly rebuild.

Jim Benning.

The man knows how to draft hockey players. He has a great eye for talent. Unfortunately he is trying to repair something that isn't his. He needs to purge and start fresh. Build this team with his strength THE DRAFT. Stop pissing around with trading away 2nd round picks. Take you players and build a Benning team. Why waste your time trying to fix the Burkenonisgillis core that can no longer carry a team?

Owners need to let him do his job properly.

id like to know what everyone thinks is going to change? what players do we have that are worth anything that wont cripple this team anymore with out their presence?

Our second line hinges on Granlund who was AHL fodder 12 months ago. Sutter/horvat/Gaunce all play a similar game and only Bo has a scoring touch (above average shot). Virtanen looks lost and disinterested as a 6th overall.

For or a meat and potatoes philosophy it sure is working - we have very little skill/scoring. The only tough players are Dorset who can barely do anything with the puck and gets unnecessarily into  opponents for too much money. Then you have pizza man Sbisa who in almost every game has a uncharacteristic dumb moment. But he was who we wanted for Kesler.

the team has no chips to trade and the ones they do have are worthless. Who is Responsible for icing a product on the ice worth watching?

The Canucks have traded away two more 2nds than they have acquired in trades. Three of the four 2nds moved were expended in trades which brought Gudbranson, Sutter and Baertschi to the Canucks. This being said, they have also gained one additional 1st, are equal in 3rds moved in trade, and have moved one additional 4th and 5th round picks than they have picked up.

Frankly, I'd be inclined to offer Benning a glass of water...

We signed one of the best free agents on the market. Unfortunately that may not be enough, would've liked to have Brouwer also.

I think he makes great trades. The Kassian trade and Vey trade were the only bad ones. I didn't like the Granlund trade either but he's looked good this year

JB isn't the problem, it's likely the owners are.

Sutter, Baer and Gud have made us into a powerhouse eh? Problem solved. When the dust settles, we are no better today then we would be without those trades. Why trade away picks to make yourself incrementally better? Especially when you have the ability to pick good players with every pick you have?

Regards, LB.
