Hey all,

I'm laid off and bored, and given the current Loui Eriksson situation I got to thinking...

What if a player didn't score a goal all season, but ended up winning the Selke....how much do you think that player would be worth per season?

(Not saying he will do either of those things...more curious about what you'd say a guy like that is worth)

...And for the sake of cutting down variables, lets say he's capable of putting up 40/50 assists per season, with decent linemates.

Zero chance someone wins the selke with 0 goals. It's a trophy for a forward who demonstrates the most skill in the defensive aspect of the game, but is never given out for that reason. Its given out based on two-way play.

If its a typical season(4 or more seasons) where he gets 0G, 50A and the selke... then I'd offer near $5 million. If its 1 season, I'd argue that is extremely unlikely to happen again, and offer $2 - $2.5 million for maximum 1 season. Extremely unlikely to repeat that season. Goals are more "repeatable" metric of offense whereas assists depend a lot on your teammates. So I'd probably expect him to get closer to 0G, 10A and a selke; then 20G, 40A and a selke.

You are a huge fan of Erickson. Now tell me,do you think he can do that for the next 6 years?
