Tryamkin Canucks Season Debut (discussion)

You need atleast one Dman with at least 70gp in the last two seasons. Sbisa is like 9 away let's keep playing him god forbid he gets a season ending injury and Biega suits up for half a season again. Hutton, Tryamkin, and Stecher are auto protected. So we could protect Edler, Tanev, and Gudbranson.

I thought only one D-man had to be exposed, no?

Depends on the option we take.

Protected Lists
* Clubs will have two options for players they wish to protect in the Expansion Draft:

a) Seven forwards, three defensemen and one goaltender

B ) Eight skaters (forwards/defensemen) and one goaltender

* All players who have currently effective and continuing "No Movement" clauses at the time of the Expansion Draft (and who to decline to waive such clauses) must be protected (and will be counted toward their club's applicable protection limits).

* All first- and second-year professionals, as well as all unsigned draft choices, will be exempt from selection (and will not be counted toward their club's applicable protection limits).

I know LE and the Sedins are required to be protected as they have NMC. I know Hutton and Virtanen should be exempt. Biega has to play 70 games in the NHL to be exposed.

Unsure if KHL qualifies as professional games.

Love his reach and he hits hard.  I want to see him stop jumping up to hit people as he vacates his position to do this because that will come back to bit him soon.

Also when he gets the puck in his zone he just lifts it out which is OK but it'd be nice to see him try to find a Canuck player.

I really like his first game of the season and when his english gets better and he gets used to the size of the rink, I think he's gonna be a stud.

Did alright, struggled a little with trying to bring the puck out of our end though. He'll have to keep working on his fitness to find a regular spot since you can't have him gassed if he gets hemmed in his own end for a minute plus.

But I know others have been discussing him already (and his debut) in the dedicated player thread:

at least tryamkin is finally in  the monster hit he gave before fight was sweet he should be playing every  game  against kings, ducks, sharks. Even pairing him up with  guddy or edler would be sweet  may as well gave pedan  as our seventh  crush the west please.  tryamkin should ge on a swim and gym program every day he could lose 15 pounds in a month easy

Both Sbisa and Biega will be on the exposed list. Edler, Tanev, and Gudbranson will be protected and Hutton, Larsen, and Tryamkin aren't eligible.

Dirty Russian tactics with the kneeing.  Other than that I loved it.  If we're going to suck all year again at least let's have an entertaining 6'7" Russian out there hitting people.

I kinda like the odd dirty play by our team. It keeps the other team honest. Like a pitcher with a 97 mph fastball that is a little wild- when done at the right time it's an edge.

we need the depth on defense because of injuries. i'm glad tryamkin had a decent game. he's now an option the team can go to. grading the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th defensemen is what the coaches get paid to do. they see the players every day and chart their development. we only look at it from a fans point of view.

Biega and Sbisa are exposed.  The Canucks are unlikely to protect them.

Among the players exposed - there needs to be 1D and 2Fs with each having at least 40 NHL games over the season or 70 NHL games over the last two seasons.  That's why they are hanging on to Biega otherwise they could have to expose one of the Ds they want to protect to meet that requirement.

Made some pretty dumb defensive passes that we've almost eliminated from our defence this season and looked like Sbisa from last season at times, hopefully he can shake them out of his game. Obviously gets a pardon considering he's a bit rusty.

Fantastic defensively down by the boards, we've finally got someone who can win puck battles by playing physically. I think it's without question that we need this guy in against the big Pacific teams. Even Gudbranson isn't as physical as this kid. Throw Labate into the forward group and we've got a bit of grit again. Tonight the Canucks were clearly instructed to hit hard and play physical, Tryamkin got the green light and he played well, but most importantly he really cleared the crease nicely which is something Edler/Tanev/Larsen struggle to do sometimes. Sbisa and Gudbranson are pretty good at it, but Tryamkin was fantastic at it and it comes down to his willingness to play physically.
