stuman491
Thought he had a great first game. I was so excited to see him stand up for Markstrom and shove Turris after he gave Marky and extra poke. It was so refreshing to see! It made me think we might as well call up Pedan. I'd rather watch a team that doesn't take any $#!& and is hard to play against. Its been a long time since we have seen that for the Canucks. And hey, at the moment I don't see how Pedan can hurt the team.
flat land fish
I also thought rather than have sutter mid slot and never see a puck lets put the big guy net front and give more room for our perimeter guys.

Team Bagues
Real good. Really really good. Liked him with Guddy - no team wants any part of that net front presence... Beauty!!! Harkins back to Babych, Dirk and Glynn smacking around the opposition...

At this point I am not convinced that Baer needs protecting, but time will tell.

Hopefully when Tanev comes back we still let Trymak play, but I have a feeling we will be stuck with Larsen and Sbizza, this years Weber and Bartkowski (although a lot better) Agreed that Sbisa and Larsen are a massive upgrade on Bart and the other Weber... Not awesome, but much better. Rome wasn't built in a day.
Hairy Kneel
You have to wonder what's going through JB and Linden's heads after watching Try last night. We could have used this muscle since LA. nobody knows what going through wd's head lol

Sounds like he got puffed pushing his shopping cart past the cookies & beer lane in the Russian mall by the end of this summer. And even after 2 solid months training here since camp > was still absolutely gassed at times in yesterday's game. By all rights we could have cut him like Etem for coming in such ghastly shape. But I said all due credit? He also plays the game with a heaviness & aplomb. That Etem did not. They said nary a bad word about him. Tried to get him some games, both in the AHL & KHL, and here we sit as he is getting close to game shape. All without Willy over rewarding him for arriving in such a state. Good on everyone. Including the big fella for working harder since here. We have something to be excited about!

I thought the Canucks handled it well even with the refusal to go to Utica. The fact he was puffing at times should not be a surprise as it was his first game. TOI of 14 minutes was good. Every time he had the opportunity he finished his check which is a very big deal in my mind. Edler is hurt apparently so maybe he gets a crack at the TO Laffers. Won't that just blow the Toronto Sports Network pundits off their chairs!

We could have used this muscle since LA. nobody knows what going through wd's head lol He was not ready to play games, he came to camp out of shape and has been working on his conditioning. Last night, he played above average, was nice to see him hitting and not putting himself out of position to do so. He also on several occasions made sure players close to the goal were given a rough ride and made sure he had the last laugh in physical encounters in the crease as well. He did simply dump the puck out to the neutral zone on a few occasions rather than find a pass out of the zone which resulted in turnovers and he also struggled in close in his own end making decisions with the puck which also led to some close calls in his end. On the offense he was able to get the puck away several times, not sure he hit the net but his attempts to get the puck deep were not blocked. Overall he played well, but you can see his strengths are physical and his work with the puck is his weakness at this time.
