Thought he had a great first game.  I was so excited to see him stand up for Markstrom and shove Turris after he gave Marky and extra poke.  It was so refreshing to see!  It made me think we might as well call up Pedan.  I'd rather watch a team that doesn't take any $#!& and is hard to play against.  Its been a long time since we have seen that for the Canucks.  And hey, at the moment I don't see how Pedan can hurt the team.

Pedan is a tremendous athlete.  Fast, big, strong just a dream...only one problem...he isn't a hockey player.  His positioning is worse than a 12 year olds.  He is constantly lost and skating in circles.  He does destroy people but often that is at the cost of leaving the front of the net wide open.  It's sad but true.  With his athleticism and the amount of time he has spent in the minors, he should already be playing in the NHL.  The fact that he doesn't is because of his ability on the ice, and it shows.  I have never been able to see him play hockey well.

Watching Tryamkin reminded me how much this team doesn't hit.the Sedins line, not gonna hit, 2nd Sutter, a bit, 3rd line Hobart 4th not enough. Where has the physical play been on the whole.

We've been out hit in all but two games by my count. pathetic!

Pedan has been on two NHL teams neither of which wanted to play him.  Oh yeah he passed through waiver where every team had a chance at him.  So me and 30 other coaches/GMs thought so.  Have you even seen him play any games in Utica?  Have you looked at his numbers this year?  Come on man, where does all that confidence come from that Pedan is gong to be an NHL hockey player?  What's the basis?

Most Big D men do not prime until 26-27 yrs,  but play well into their 30's..  Chara is a fantastic example of that, and if you check the stats of others you will find it is a common denominator.

Watch how Tryamkin's strength and stability gets so much better over the next 3-5 years.

Pedan hasn't been given a fair chance yet, and because of his waiver status, he may be best protected in Utica for the year or injury reserve. I'm almost sure he is on the roster here next year.

a mean streak ready to take on any King and quick realease 104mph slap shot will not get thrown away without a fair shake.

I think Tryamkin and Pedan are not comparable.  Tryamkin is better than Pedan in every way.  You can make the chara potential argument with him but with Pedan I just don't see it at all.

They are and they aren't, everyone's ability curve is different, as is each toolbox.

Pedan is mean, Pronger type mean. He skates well, and has decent skills, his coach speaks highly of him.

check out Pedans' thread in the Utica Comets Prospects Discussion.

edit:  at about 1:20 of this clip you see the distraction he can cause to crease crashers..

I agree! I do hope Pedan takes that next step, but not quite there yet, I feel the same about Gaunce and I do want them both to get there. Tram on the other hand is the elephant in the room that's going to stomp all over the opponent.
