TheRussianRocket.
> Cheap deal, like really really really cheap! Great for Winnipeg to work with > Trouba had to sign before Dec.1 otherwise he'd be ineligible to play this year > Possible sign n trade...Turris was traded a week or so after he signed with (at the time) Phoenix
Warhippy
$3 MILLION! Sign and Trade almost without question unless his agent is absolutely incompetent or he's willing to wait out for a top 4 spot @Monty thoughts???

Blue Jay 22
Has Trouba fired his agent yet? He literally did nothing but screw himself over. Less pay, games lost, distanced himself from the locker room....and on top of it all, he's back in the same situation that made him demand a trade in the first place...supposedly. Loser = Overhardt. Makaramel MacKhiato
Should've signed earlier, that salary would be doubled each year.

Fanuck
Very 'tradeable' contract whether it has to be this year or next. Any team trading for him will now know their 'window' they have to work out a deal with him. This was going to get done one way or another. When was the last time a notable RFA held out for the season?
Odd.
Can't see WPG fans liking him back after this whole ordeal. What a loss on Trouba side. I'm thinking Trouba is off to Detroit tbh. Detroit have the pieces, and Trouba would get a lot of top 4 playing time there I'm sure.

Gives Chevy a lot of options for a trade, now. If Hamonic decides that he'd like move again, this is a very cap friendly deal for Snow to deal with. Basically, this gives the Jets endless options in trades, simply because of the dollar amount.
Blue Jay 22
If there is a deal to be made with Detroit, I bet Anthony Mantha is part of the package going back. With Vanek going on LTIR today, the Wings recalled Tyler Bertuzzi, despite Mantha having 7 goals in 9 games and Detroit having a void in their top 6. Don't know what else Detroit would give, but Mantha being included is something I'm confident in.

The only thing with that is Winnipeg said they want a L-Shot Dman for him and detroit is already thin on D to begin with.
oldnews
That's what he's worth. It's about time. Got some garbage advice from his agent imo. Bridge made sense all along. Take a short term reasonable deal and show us what you've got. Glad they finally got this done - and that Chevy wins in the end. It also makes him marketable finally - as a team wouldn't have to overpay him for the next few years and commit to a risky long term deal.
IbanezRG
Trouba would make a hell of a Canuck.
JM_
All that.. and this is the deal? I suppose he's a young UFA at the end of it... You'd think Winnipeg could have received a lot more value back in a trade than what this deal represents, but this also shows the rest of the league probably wasn't offering much either. I can imagine something around the likes of Dekeyser + Mantha for Trouba + something small (Burmistrov maybe?). Dekeyser fits the description of what they are looking for, and Detroit gets the player with higher upside. Works for Detroit because it saves them cap space for the time being without really creating a void from their roster. I don't think Dekeyser is a #1 Dman, but he was a fantastic #3/#4 for Detroit before they tried to turn him into something he is not. @Monty thoughts? You a Danny D fan?
