danjr
This streak has me remembering the brutal seasons of the past where really knew how to lose with the best of them. Especially being shut out night in night out. 9 points 13 games. 69 games left .600 winning percentage over those games equals 82.8 points. Add those to our 9 points 92 points if we run off winning 6 of 10 every 7 times in a row. Notwithstanding some loser points we could go 5-3-2. So essentially 500 for the rest of the season might have us sneak in?!?!?! Even 4-2-4 would equate .400 hockey I mean I am a die hard Canuck fan, but are we already out of the playoffs the first week in November?

Canucks have a 21.1% chance of making the playoffs.

drsofthands
If you thought the canucks were going to be good this year... Don't make any more predictions. Any of you who thought canucks could compete for a playoff spot, let alone the cup are clearly so blind and in denial. Let this be proof to you that you have no idea what youre talking about. And next time you make a prediction, stop, think, and realize you havent got a clue honestly hilarious how many people thought this was going to work. Get it through your thick head that sometimes teams have to tank, and they dont do it because they want to, they do it because they need to. And raising prospects in a 'winning environment' is a pipe dream, and nothing more than an empty promise.

Reality is that this team is probably better off trading vets and finishing near the bottom but they are only 2 points out of a playoff spot. If they actually develop a scoring touch, no reason they can't get back into a playoff spot...lots of parity this year.

People are too blinded by management feeding them this concept of "retooling on the fly" which doesn't really work. At all. I wouldn't mind tanking for a few years, look at where it got Pittsburgh. Kane and Toews both #1/3 picks. Doughty was a 2nd overall pick. You find elite talent in the top end of the draft.
Blueberries
Honestly we didn't even have a legit chance of making the playoffs.
Tystick
Even if we make the playoffs we're not built to win the cup so it doesn't really matter either way. That said I'd rather us fight for a playoff spot than float around for the rest of the season. Something needs to change that's for sure.

And if you thought the Canucks were going to be bad or you criticized them in anyway you were bashed, called a troll, and you clearly weren't a fan of the team. But things have changed since the 4-0. Now, everyone's embracing and starting to realize this team just isn't good. We need to recoup draft picks and acquire pieces and get on with this "rebuild on the fly" or whatever they speak of. I didn't think we would be bottom of the barrel and we're definitely capable of more. We just need to start scoring. Guys like Eriksson, Sutter, Baertschi, Virtanen, even Burrows need to start scoring if we're going to win games. We can't expect to win games if we're solely relying on the Sedin's and Hansen. Were you not on CDC over the summer? Almost every news outlet predicted us finishing last, only to see the backlash of CDC with "Eastern Bias". You're putting words in most peoples mouths. Many on here, including me, were saying this was a bubble team at best if things went right. Clearly things aren't going right so the Canucks will have to put a lot of wins together before getting back to bubble status. Also, many of these same people didn't buy into the "retool on the fly" either. Just against tanking on purpose.
