Canucks slow starts are a failure of coaching

Honestly Alf have you any examples of that stuff. It's not what I see. Maybe you can quote a few examples from last night and I will have a look - or maybe it's just more of the uninformed hyperbole littering these boards just now.

Just a little full of yourself:)

I heard we are looking for a big scoring 20 goal winger? That could be the answer to all of our issues.

Well, 4 or 5 more goals thus far at the right times could actually have represented quite an answer.   A few other guys getting an inch or a bounce or two wouldn't hurt either. :bigblush:

haha you are right about the bounces though. Sven and Loui are capable of 20, both have had quite a few chances. Once these guys get it going this team will be different.

you really gotta work on reading bro. Olddog eloquently set the table with a very detailed and logical response to all of you Sportsnet watching, "mom I'm hungry, when is supper" folk who think you can coach from your drab, musky smelling basement.

oh is that what it was? he likes to rip people to make himself feel good, on an anonymous hockey board; thats kind of sad. He's also wrong much of the time too, but who's counting ^_^

I'm not so sure its coaching per say if they are handcuffed... Might be if you consider our players abilities.

One of the biggest red flags I have in regards to coaching is how we are playing the dump and chase game when we do not have the size and or speed to play that sort of game and more often than not it just ends up being a turn over or a losing board battle. Now the question would be can our players make plays off the rush to gain the zone with speed... If the answer is yes then I would be looking at coaching choosing the wrong tactics... If we do not have the skill then the dump and chase game is the easiest defensively to avoid turn overs in the neutral zone. But is playing the safe game with low percentage offence the answer?

This problem goes back to AV and his woes at the end. Facing any sort of pressure the safe dump was utilized to the point of almost null offense if the opponent worked hard.

Eventually you have to try to make a play instead of the dump and chase. We do not have the horses to play that game.

Coaches problem? Sure, GM's responsiblity? Yes.
