I'm waiting for another hard hat moment with CC announcing the new St Pauls hospital. For the 15th time!

It took the BC liberals losing Bill Barisoff  in the Penticton and Okanagan riding to announce a new hospital expansion in penticton.  one in which after the election was won they scaled down 40% and told the city they'd be covering almost 25% of the costs of.

Things they never said before the election was over.

Legal stuff

Kind of funny teachers continue to win landmark cases against the government that you swear is not doing anything wrong but the courts continue to say are.

Crooks like the BC Government  / and their supporters like Saul Good Man     just never seem to do well in court... But they always have an excuse for breaking the law.

Just glad we have a Supreme Court in Canada that shows Christy Clark for the criminal she is.

I never said they didn't do anything wrong. You and King are the ones throwing around personal accusations. I'm saying it wasn't "criminal". Not everything deemed unconstitutional is a criminal act... oh god, do we have to have that argument now too?

Just curious - did you have a kid in school between 2002 and today?

...and after much canvassing in Princeton to reopen the Hospital as well. That had disaster written all over it, a copper mine, a sawmill, and a major highway going through the valley, what were they thinking when they basically shut it down?

Do I live in Burnaby?  No.  How's that education system?  Hospital situation?  Affordable housing?  Full time jobs with benefits?  Ohh how about that trillion dollar LNG fund and those 100's of thousands of jobs by 2017?

Newsflash champ.  EVERY SINGLE election since the liberals came in to power, 18 months pre election they offer up a lot of goodies.  Most of which then never occur.  It is fact.  They have a record of doing this.  But keep pointing the finger at other people who are NOT running the government to deflect from the seriousness of the situation.

Oh man you crack me up! You blame Clark for the homeless issue, but choose to ignore Corrigans outright dismissal of his own ability to make changes. Dippler logic at its best :P

Sadly its getting harder and harder to staff smaller hospitals. You literally can't hire some positions in, in some towns. Lets hear Hippy blame Clark for that too.

Every month is sucky for you when you support a political party that steals from our our most vulnerable  -  special needs kids.

OK, you've exhausted me, you win. Its exactly like you say. Stay in the bubble.

I disagree, many people would love to re-locate to smaller communities in the Interior. Especially RN's, and hospital staff, at least they could afford a home. Well, she let the horses out of the barn on the real estate issue here in the lower mainland. No data, no data, then after being grilled the Socreds find all kinds of data, imagine that?

and? did they succeed in the system?

Christy Laid off

Special ed teachers

Special ed assistants

Libraries closed

Counsellors laid off

Ed Psychs  ( specialists )  cut

Why - because the BC Liberal Party cut all of these positions to save money......

Oh - but St Georges Elite Private School where Christy sends her kid got a funding INCREASE.  So they have half as many kids per class as my kid.

St Georges also does not accept kids with learning issues.....   Isn't  that swell....    But they get a funding increase....

Unfortunately not enough specialists do. There are some interesting models being talked about bringing in foreign trained MDs tho to help on this front.

yah, it must be exhausting trying to justify / support a criminal political party.   That must be exhausting......

No, I'm good. I get the anger over it, I really do. But full union control is not the answer either. Oh sh!t, I guess that makes me a criminal eh?

The best solution is a negotiated solution - a compromise.

But the thing is that both parties are supposed to live by and honor signed agreements......  That is  Obeying the  LAW  -  honoring the contract you signed......  agreeing to honor your word...... that is the part the BC government is not so good at.

The inevitable conclusion of this is going to be the opening of special needs schools in BC, and not having these kids integrated in standard schools. I saw this happen in Saskatchewan. We actually need the union to give up control of this issue to an independent council, but I'm not holding my breath.

Lmao

Yes 2

In schools that were slated fir closure before the government MAGICALLY found the money pre election after polls showed dan Ashton was in danger to keep them open.

Schools which have overcrowded classes.  No special needs teacher and shared gym times.

Schools in which my oldest daughter's teacher paid for gas money on a bus to take them to watch the salmon spawn after those cutbacks.

Better find a different tactic or route to prove that superiority

The specialists are in Penticton General, and yes many of the MD's are foreign trained, as well as newly trained MD's from Canada. The fact that any hospital is closed is wrong in cases of emergency, and I hate to say what if?, but to close a hospital in a resource town is just plain, not thought out very well.
