Stecher Value Huge: Trade Option?

I've been there, my friend. Once misspelled, & asked all concerned, what elements(& sundry) do we need for our rooster? Just a simple little error, yet plummeted to the depths of the pecking order!

SEVEN years I lurked in the weeds, afraid to make a comment! After counselling..I was ready again. You've gotta believe, but it takes support..friends, family..farm animals.Lots of love.

You CAN do it! Don't look back.

Young D-men are like complex arabica beans..you need a veritable plethora(& nice blend) in yer roaster. mmm..there's some deep analysis percolatin' now.

LOL.  OP needs to wake up and smell the coffee.  But I think he's been sniffing something else in the roaster.  Stecher is exactly the kind of dman the team needs to trade FOR, not AWAY.

I beg to differ, but no way do we trade, or even hint trade, for Stetch. For one, how is his value maximized after 7 games? Until he proves to be the next coming of Phil Housley (or some similar undersized Dman), he will not bring that much. Two, and this has been mentioned, other free agents look for stability; trading him that fast sure doesn't advertise stability. Three; he brings a certain fan value to the team, you know "Local boy makes the pro team". Don't tell me he isn't worth a couple/few season tickets to the team.

With this team struggling for goals Benning was on record recently saying that teams are calling him about prospects, including Juolevi and Stecher but Benning rejected the offers.

While along with others I would love to have more young defencemen on our roaster, this team needs scoring more than anything. Maybe now is the time to get maximum value for Stecher as so many people around the league are noticing his play. We can get a lot for him, and I think it could be a great move considering we got him pretty much free.

Thoughts are welcomed!

Why would the canucks decide to trade a young defense man who has such a huge upside in terms of potential ?

All kidding aside, Stecher, Trymakin and Juolevi are the last players I trade from the defence. They represent the future, Based of depth, I would consider a move with Hutton, but the the return would have to be impressive.

Guds is my choice to lead the new core and somewhere between him Edler and Tanev, someone could be moved to bolster the line up elsewhere. My choice is Tanev, his value should be great and he can be traded to any team. Guds is a keeper and Edler is way underrated here.

Sbisa, Beiga and Larsen could go or stay, but don't hold enough value to bring back any real assests.

The emergence of Stecher and the hopeful rise of Trymakin gives this team a decent chance to speed up the rebuild as we can move out a legitimate top 4 defender on either side. The biggest need for many playoff teams. Stecher, Guds and Tanev is a very deep right side. Who plays on the bottom pair?  Can any play on the left side?  That may determine a possible trade this year.
