Jake didn't exactly have dominating numbers in the junior.. not sure how u can compare the 2.. if that's the case.. every young player in the league should be compared to Cam Neely then.. hell look at Grabner he's 2nd in the league in goals playing 10-12mins a night. Why did we give up on McCann already then? same with Shinkaruk? they all have a chance to bloom into an elite player based on your statement. if tanking for a long period of time gives us the best chance at a cup? i take that any day over winning a bunch of regular season games and being bounced in the 1st or 2nd round.. not all team have success from tanking.. but of recent cup winners.. most of them tanked whether it was short or not.. tanking got pittsburgh 2 cups, got chicago 3 cups.. and LA while didn't exactly tank but were bottom feeders for a while got them 2 cups.. so u can say since the lockout.. 7 of the stanley cups have been won by teams that bottom fed for 3-5 years.. it's a lot easier to build a team when you are constantly drafting in the top 5 for elite talents and when necessary trade the excess talents to cover other areas.. kingofsurrey Posted November 16, 2016 Share Posted November 16, 2016 Virt is starved of ice time minutes then benched for poor play ( by all accounts has been very defensively responsible ) Loui Eriksson gets a free pass and huge minutes each game and contributes next to nothing offensively to this club. canucklehead44 Posted November 17, 2016 Share Posted November 17, 2016 Just let Jake simmer in the AHL. J.T. Miller had 10 points over his first 56 NHL games (over two seasons).
