Hortankin
Here is how I see it... Tryamkin: will be a top 4 here for years to come. Gudbranson: Will be a top 4 here for years to come. Juolevi: Will MOST LIKELY be a top 2 here for years to come. Stecher: Solid 2nd/3rd pairing 1st PP type Dman here for a long time. Hutton: As much as I love Hutton I think we should exercise trading him. People may bash me for this but I don't think he will live up to the hype that he created in his rookie year, hopefully I'm wrong as I don't see him being traded as a likely scenerio. Juolevi Gudbranson Tryamkin Stecher XXXXX XXXXX and that's not even mentioning the big name players like Tanev or Edler who may/could very well be here for a while. TBH if we don't pick up the pace by Christmas I would sell of Edler for a 1st and a blue chip prospect. I'm sure teams would jump at the shot of taking him to help them win it all, not even a rental and his cap hit is very reasonable. I can see the Ducks, Hawks, and Capitals all making a push for him. Tanev I would hang onto atleast until the expansion draft is done and his value sky rockets. I love Tanev but he is a VERY VALUABLE asset and could get us that future #1C we are wanting to create a dynamic 1-2 punch with Horvat. If we dealt him to the Oilers I feel we could get a crazy package. RNH+2ND+3RD FOR TANEV+Gaunce. If the Oilers went crying for a stud like Tanev and we didn't have other options then the Oilers wouldn't even think about it. Even though on paper we fleece them the trade really helps both teams IMO Then next season assuming Juolevi makes the jump I would then look at selling high on Hutton. To the Avs for Landeskog? Add picks if needed but Hutton does have a lot of value. Now our team next year looks like: New head coach Sedin Sedin Eriksson Landeskog RNH Sutter Baertschi Horvat Boeser Virtanen Granlund Hansen Juolevi Gudbranson Tryamkin Stecher Sbisa Larsen Pedan Subban 2018 draft picks 1st 1st (?) 2nd 2nd (edm) 2nd (clb) 3rd 3rd (edm) 4th 5th 6th 7th Retool in full motion, waiting on development and chemistry to kick in. We will win the cup with the Sedins taking pay cuts and I believe that is exactly Bennings #1 goal. Best thing about it is we look to be set up good for years after the Sedins are gone. As bad as the hockey is right now just be grateful it won't be a 10 year rebuild. Embrace JB he's a great GM with a great vision!

I like the Habs to so I'll have a team to root for in the playoffs. I've cam to realize this may be a dark year for us and we just have to patiently watch these young kids grow. Play out the year, deal Edler b4 the deadline, fire Willie in the Offseason, and let's get it going for next year. Boeser is going to be a rookie of the year candadite if WD isn't coach next year

The value is right or close enough and I can really see the Tanev to EDM deal a real possibility. Once we get a new coach and they utilize the players the right way Benning will look like a genius. I think WD is mainly here to help drive defence into our young players games and when we make the coaching change we will see a lot more offensive play. I hope we be patient and don't even consider a management change atleast until the year after the Sedins sign at a discount price. If we're not competing by then I say we demote Benning to head scout and hire a new GM. Linden stays he's a great leader for our franchise! khay
There's no quick fix. The reason why 2008-2013 Canucks were so good is because most of the core players were developed and learnt the system together from the same coach (AV was the AHL coach for Kes, Burr, Bieksa, etc) and hence, played greatly as a team. If we want to reach those levels again, we need to develop our own players.

billabong
I do agree. Hutton is more expendable than tanev. Easier to find mobile lefties than right handed, shutdown, smooth skating defefenceman I don't think we have the right pieces for a deal for landy as much as it pains me to say it

It'd be a 20th+ pick anyway why not. I did kind of drastically over value Hutton but like u said a 1st would look nice for the avs, we'd have 2 to offer
Heretic
Ryan Nugent Hopkins? A former 1st over all pick? I hope you guys all realize that in the last 20 years, the total number of trades between the Canucks and Oilers is a whopping 3! They were all minor ones to boot.
