J.I.A.H.N
Vancouver trades Hank and Dank 50% retained = 7 million owning for Buffalo trades E, Kane and M. Moulson 50% retained = approx 7.5 million, plus A, Nylander and 1 - 2017 2nd and 1 - 2018 2nd Now please note, you are not getting one of Buffalo's young centers, but you pick up Kane and Nylander , and you never know what the 2 second's will bring. You move Moulson at 50% ($2,5 million or less) or Buy him out for (1.75 million or less) depending if the league allows us to apply the 50% to the buy out that Buffalo pays) To me that about the best you do on a Sedin's trade Is it a risk worth taking? We also may be able to protect one more player......depending on what you do to Moulson
J.I.A.H.N
I am also sugesting Vancouver trades Alex Edler and J. Subban for Montreal trades Emelin, Juulsen, and (1 2017 - 2nd Lowest ) And Vancouver trades Hansen for Tampa trades B. Howden
Toews
The question is why would Buffalo do this? They simply aren't at the stage yet where they can trade multiple futures for aging talent to go for a Cup.
RetroCanuck
I like your edler and Hansen Trades more. Only teams I can think of that might take the sedins are New York and Montreal. Both with older cores pushing for cup runs and with 7mil in a first line playing as your second line who knows
ItsMillerTime
The buffalo one makes no sense. Also I think we would be giving a pick to Montreal.
Solinar
I like where your head is at, but I think your target of the Sabres is just a little off, mainly because they aren't in it to win it, per se. I think you could adjust your target to one of the teams that is ALMOST a contender and go from there. I think you'd be better off targetting Nashville or Minnesota. Montreal is another good one to choose from in the East, but you could also throw in the Islanders. You have to be able to sell those teams that they are close, but need a 2nd line and a top 4 defenseman/goalie to make it over the top, and use your ability to retain salary on up to 2 people. And to make the best possible return, you should allow for some trash to come back our way for a few years which will make the fan base hate you for a little while. Solinar
Oh, and you have to be able to tell your owner that they basically paid your players to win a cup for another team.... That should always be a fun conversation. Maybe if you throw into the deal while negotiating that you kind of get Cup rings for the owners if that team wins....you know, akin to a conditional pick heheh
Alflives
Sabres do this instantly, as they get rid of their problem child, and don't give up that much. In return they get the Twins, who would insulate their young centres. It's a deal that seems a bit weighted in favour of the Sabres. I think Sam Reinhart in place of Nylander would be more fair. I get what you saying and I have to agree with you in some ways.....I have been thinking about how you move the Sedin's for some time, and to be honest, it's preety difficult.....the trading team has to have enough cap space and a higher cap throw in, and have enough prospects and picks that they don't give away all they have.....I did think about Minni, and they are a candidate, but I don't think they have the prospects/picks..........It is very hard to come up with a fair trade for the Sedin's that work....as I had read earlier some where.....don't expect to win the talent trade off, just try to get as much as you can..........again it is hard! 10 hours ago, Alflives said: Sabres do this instantly, as they get rid of their problem child, and don't give up that much. Thanks Alf.......that is pretty much the reason I suggested it, but I think you have to reach to the stars and expect the moon! And as much as I would love Reinhart, I just don't think they give him up ......but Kane, Nylander and a couple of 2nds, wouldn't be chump change.................5 years ago, you could expect Kane, Reinhart and a 1st or two, but not now........I think I pretty much asked for as much as I could.......but thanks for the support
canucklehead80
Twins hold all the cards. As much as it would benefit the franchise if they were to waive, they would have a list of teams they'd be willing to go to, all contenders to be sure. Even without a list, it would be wrong to send them packing to a team rebuilding. The optics would not be very good. As much as we can benefit by adding assets, we would still need to look after the twins after all they've meant to this franchise.
Patrick Jane
Buffalo would never do that trade. there in the bottom of the standings in the east. And can go for anther top Draft Pick. There Rebuilding the right way. Soon they'll have all the top prospects playing. And can start building a system from there to make the playoffs. Why trade younger players for slow older players. Canuck's always try to short cut rebuilds. Benning better not trade Virtanen for Evander Kane.
