snizzle_
Van Receives: Dylan Strome Ari Receives: Jake Virtanen Value may be off in Arizona's favour so maybe we add a roster player because Arizona needs to start building around their young core. Very similar players in terms of physical attributes. But Jake is ahead in the development curve. Throw in Chychrun and you've got a deal.

However, I see Strome having a bigger potential of becoming a better player than Virtanen. I think the Canucks rushed a bit with Virtanen, who should have spent a season with the Calgary Hitmen last year, and the Utica Comets this season at the very start. I think you missed the obvious sarcasm in his post. Jake Virtanen isn't close to fair value with Dylan Strome.

Just cause Strome played with Connor mcdavid! who Connor makes any player better;) doesn't mean he's a better player! Imagine what Virtanen could have done if he played along side of Mcdavid;) case closed!
Alflives
Excellent post OP. Fair value, and a trade that helps both teams.
Phil_314
I'd do it if Arizona would. Definitely seems like a steal for us, given how we've essentially mishandled Jake's development and the team needs to groom a scoring center since McCann's dealt. While I do like Jake's drive as a straight-line, rugged guy I think if he's continually mishandled he could end up more like Steve Bernier/ 3rd line physical winger than the power forward he's been projected to become at his draft. I love this. I say virtanen and a third should do it. Virtanen is clearly a busy and Arizona miss used stroke even tho he had great potential. JUST DO IT

Agreed on Virtanen being returned to junior in his first year. It was tough seeing him play only 4-5 minutes per night. I just did some more research on Strome, and you're right; he does have more potential. Perhaps even Ryan Getzlaf potential. Okay I'm sold, let's trade Virtanen for him lol. cripplereh
maybe a new team might help but I think Jake will be just fine with more time in the minors and next year he will show he can play and play well but a trade like this I just do not know why unless it is straight across
hammertime
I don't see why there would be any pressure on "ari" to trade Strome unless there was a land slide deal in their favor. Also they need a center which Strome is and Virtanen is not. We could probably land him for some kind of Horvat deal I wouldn't touch that though. So let me see if I got this right: Virtanen in your mind is the better player because Strome was basically a passenger for McDavid yet we want Strome when we don't have McDavid? Seems legit
Ronaldoescobar
If you remove Strome from the deal and in his place insert a 3rd round pick you may get the Coyotes ear. I hope Jake picks his game up and develops properly but Strome is the far far better prospect.

ForsbergTheGreat
Both Dylan and Ryan are having troubles sticking in the NHL. Late bloomers i guess. http://www.newsday.com/sports/hockey/islanders/islanders-ryan-strome-perplexed-by-second-straight-healthy-scratch-1.12681183
