[Report] Ryan Strome unhappy being healthy scratched 2nd game in a row

...I hope JB gives Garth Snow a phone call.  I'd honestly build a statue of JB outside of Rogers Arena if he could acquire Strome for let's say someone like Virtanen.

Isles have a plethora of centres and it's been evident for a few years now that Capuano doesn't really favour Strome and has always given him the short end of the stick (pretty long history in the short period of times he's been an NHLer). Likewise, Jake is slowly falling off the tracks himself and doesn't have all that great of a rapport with WD either.

Imo would be a win-win for both teams and the players to get a fresh start in a change of scenery type deal. Tell me a future 1-2 punch of Bo&Strome down the middle wouldn't excite you.....just some food for thought

I would even add on to virtanen to make it happen. I don't think its enough to get it done.

It would be a solid time to acquire Strome, but not for Virtanen.

Strome is 3 full years older, and had a rough season last year, and is following that up with a similar looking season.  At this point Im more comfortable projecting Strome to be a miss than Virtanen.

Im not against moving Virtanen, but the return should be better.  I would however offer up some other prospects not named Boesser, Juolevi, Demko.

There's no reason to trade Jake, yet. He's doesn't have to clear waivers so there is no rush to move him.  Trading him for a risk is not good asset management.  Let him develop in the AHL, we shouldn't freak out because a 20 year old hasn't made an NHL impact yet.

No more unproven risk players that require waivers and handcuff our roster. We've already had too many of those moves.

Vey, Baertschi, Granlund, Etem, Larsen

Ye, you're most likely missing the boat on this one.

If anything Canucks would have to add. Strome is a sure NHLer, he's just been locked up in Capuano's doghouse ever since he arrived to the Isles. He already had a 50 point year during his sophomore year where Capuano was forced to play him 2nd line with injuries down the middle. When there are other healthy centres, Strome's just falls of the Earth in Capuano's eyes for some odd reason.

And idk how Strome would be more a miss. He's proven himself at the NHL level but just needs consistent ice time. Jake on the other hand hasn't even begun to figure things out and looks like a shell of the player we drafted. Imo, this would be a great move to salvage that Virtanen pick by getting someone of the likes of Strome.

Strome played wing with Tavares the year he put up 50 points.  As soon as they moved him off he's been lost.

I don't think I agree with Strome projecting more of a miss at all. Strome has always put up respectable and some being very impressive numbers at every single level in every season. Virtanen... not so much.

I think the fact that he had a rough season last year and having a great season the year before should probably make him less of a risk as he is miles more proven than Jake has been.
