All credit deservedly goes to Manny Malholtra for our incredible improvement in the face off circle. A brilliant addition to the Canucks team who continues to help us win games even after he was forced to retire. Love the guy.

Or our change is due to Henrik not having a broken hand, Sutter actually in the lineup, Horvat still doing strong and we don't have a plug as a 3rd line center going 35% in the faceoffs like McCann did.

A healthy roster helps

Don't forget Chaput.

Is it any surprise we were last in 15/16 considering the circumstances? Sutter - out. Henrik - playing injured and having to drop to his knees to take face-offs. Vey - has never reached 45% in the NHL (now gone). McCann - a 34% rookie who showed virtually no improvement over the entire season at face-offs (now gone) and his percentage alone would bring a team average down. Gaunce and Granlund only played a combined 36 games. Horvat was our only healthy (and decent) center the whole season.

As much as I like Malhotra, and see him here as a positive, I don't think you can give him 100% credit for the turnaround. Changed circumstances has played a bigger role in it.

It's a little early in the season for this article.

So it's a bit early for this but not the myriad of articles saying how they are terrible from the usual suspects? It's nice to hear a little balance once and a while.......
