Noble 6
Trade 1: To MTL: Edler + Hansen = 7.5 million To VAN: Juulsen + Desharnias (cap dump) + Emelin (cap dump) + 4th Round Pick 2017 = 7.6 million Montreal gears up for a Cup run. They get the defenseman they've been looking for, someone who can play some minutes on the left side and take some pressure off Weber. Hansen also fits beautifully with their forward group, which is built on speed, tenacity and forechecking. Hansen brings all those elements to the table. Both Hansen and Edler would hopefully waive because they are going together and have a chance to win a Cup. The Canucks add a very good right handed defense prospect in Juulsen who could be a key contributor on our blue line in the future. I know it may seem that our defensive pool is pretty much rebuilt, but that's assuming everyone either hits their potential and/or doesn't regress in any way. Juulsen adds some stability in that regard. Even if they all pan out, someone can be traded for a future need as defenseman are valuable on the trade market. Emelin is a cap dump, but he can help Tryamkin in the locker room and on the ice as a fellow Russian. He has 1 more year after this season and Desharnais' expires at the end of this season. * I know there were probably some proposals similar to this, if not the exact same. Sorry if I accidently used your proposal. Trade 2: To PHI: Tanev = 4.45 million To VAN: Sanheim + 1st Round Pick 2017 + 3rd Round Pick 2017 + Streit = 5.25 million Losing Tanev hurts us very badly on defense. However, this year is our last year to trade him anywhere as his NTC kicks in this summer. The Flyers have been looking for a defenseman on the right side to compliment some of their puckmovers, and Tanev fits that mold perfectly. He is a great complimentary piece on a good contract for them to have for a while as their other young defenseman mature. This helps them in their push for the Playoffs and allows them to hopefully make a Cup run. Streit is a cap dump on an expiring contract that the Canucks would have to take on the make the deal possible. Sanheim is another very good defense prospect who is somewhat buried on the left side in Philadelphia behind Ghostisbehere and Provorov. He could be another important contributor on our blue line or he can be traded if we run out of space. We also stock up on picks for this year. Trade 3: To LAK: Miller (50% retained) = 3.0 million To VAN: 2nd Round Pick 2017 L.A. needs a goalie despite the surprising play of Budaj. Miller would waive because it gives him a chance to be closer to his wife and play on a better team with less coverage. Canucks add another pick. 2016-17 Lineup: Sedin - Sedin - Burrows Baertschi - Horvat - Rodin Granlund - Sutter - Eriksson Desharnais - Gaunce - Skille Hutton - Gudbranson Streit - Sbisa Tryamkin - Stetcher Emelin Markstrom Bachman Cap Space: 2.95 million Future Pieces: Horvat, Juolevi, Demko, Boeser, Beartschi, Virtanen, Stetcher, Hutton, Gudbranson, Tryamkin, Juulsen, Sanheim, 1st, 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd Draft Day: If our pick doesn't end up high enough, move any combination of picks to move up and take Liljegren. He would be our replacement for Tanev on defense. He and Juolevi would give us two great defenseman to build around. While we are short at young forwards, especially centers, building a strong and potentially elite defense is more important. Ask Edmonton. With Liljegren, we would have this to build around on the back end: Tryamkin (#4) - Liljegren (#1) Juolevi (#1-2) - Gudbranson (#4) Hutton (#4) - Stetcher (#3-4) Sanheim (#4-6) - Juulsen (#4-6) Brisebois (#4-6) - Subban (#5-6) What do you guys think? ItsMillerTime
2nd trade no thanks Tanev is still young and is part of the future. Don't think Kings give up a 2nd round pick.
qwijibo
Mr Glass ( Edler) is out long term AGAIN. Meanwhile Emelin has been very good this season paired with Weber (and is far from a cap dump) I don't see Montreal biting on this at cost of one of their top prospects. Hansen would be an interesting piece.
flickyoursedin
I think Hansen has enough value to move in a separate deal. I think Vancouver messed up big time not moving him in last years deadline. They could have easily gotten a first round pick for him. However with the upcoming expansion draft their will be a lot of sellers and low prices.

It would increase the chances of them waiving their NTC's and we would also get a better return than if we dealt them separetely.
