[PGT] Canucks @ Flames

.Literally the worst back to back game I ever seen in my life.   They have no energy and no motivation to play.  They were looking forward to Christmas break and does not deserve the break with the way they were playing against Calgary of all teams.   If Penguins were playing then that's understandable but against this team, is not acceptable.   That all is on the coach, Willie so when can we expect to hand him the pink slip?

So now, players top out at 20?

:picard: You contribute to why I don't enjoy being apart of this fanbase.

Point is we needed to draft NHL ready kids before our franchise implodes. Canucks are not like the Leafs, the fans disappear out of the stands

we ended up with non NHL ready kids. And we made outright errors

Jake over Ehlers was an ERROR. Hands down error

The team got in at 2am, they looked exhausted and un-motivated but most importantly, their simple skills weren't there which is something we've seen as a product of fatigue. Poor skating, very poor passing and bad clears. All signs of fatigue.

1) The Sedins looked the most tired of any Cancuk, their age really catching up to them in these rough back-to-backs. Eriksson simply has NO chemistry with them and I hope WD stops trying to beat that dead horse. He was brilliant with Sutter and Granlund - the one time he put those 3 together they get Sutter's great point blank chance and almost a 2-on-0. It doesn't take a blind person to see that. Demote the twins. Put Eriksson back with Granlund.

2) Horvat was our 1st line center tonight, he was really showing off some nice passing and playmaking and actually had a pretty good game. Set up 3 or 4 A-grade chances that no one could burry. Baertschi was to blame on the big 2nd Flames goal against and was pretty bad tonight, whiffed on a few chances and just didn't have the timing or usual spring in his step. Blaming fatigue on that one because he's been red-hot lately but at least this line is still getting chances. Stupid penalty by Burrows but at that point in the game I rather those penalties and a message being sent than just folding quietly like the rest of this team.

3) Sutter and Granlund were pretty bad with Chaput and Rodin on their wing but as soon as Eriksson was put back there they caught fire late in the 3rd. Sutter still played hard.

4) Chaput had a great game, Gaunce was the same-old non-flashy player and Skille had a modest game. Average for 4th liners but Chaput is really making the most of his chances with some nice passes and plays. Anton Rodin was terrible, not sure if he was injured or benched but apart from one or two good shifts really didn't do much. Hopefully WD puts him with the twins for a short period of time.

5) Tryamkin actually had his best game in a while defensively and offensively of course, not much physical play. Biega was average. Tanev and Sbisa were brilliant. Hutton was slightly sub-par in his performance below average (lots of passes that didn't connect, bad keep-ins on the PP and couldn't clear many times). He looked tired. Stecher again played a strong game, good skating and passing despite the fatigue that everyone else is showing. Games like tonight, where he's the only one who can string a clear pass together and skate well, show why he's going to be our MVP on defence and take the reins off Edler as early as next year. In a 3-1 game, he's the one trying the hardest chipping the puck to himself, getting high sticked then rushing into the offensive zone. Everyone should take notes from this kid.

6) Gotta feel bad for Markstrom, can't really be blamed for many of the goals, and he made some huge saves. I think all the goalies get a free pass this year with this brutal defence that simply can't tie up guys in front of the net or protect the cross-crease pass.

7) Hard to blame WD for this loss apart from the bad lines. His group came out strong in the 3rd but were clearly physically too exhausted. They need a break, then they desperately need some practices to get back to basics and learn how to string passes together like they were doing in the first few games of the season.

TL;DR - chalk this one up to fatigue, Eriksson needs to be playing with Granlund if we want any chance, lets try Rodin with Horvat or H. Sedin and get back to basics.
